d-d-d-dAz Posted May 21 Posted May 21 (edited) Tiger Rick is a good egg, so I'm happy for Hull to go up but i've got no real time for their legal challenge, or complaints they've been preparing for Southampton. No more than Middlesbrough have been preparing for being on their holidays. They both knew there was a chance the fixture was going to be changed. If the argument is Southampton are out because they've cheated, it'd then be insanely unfair to say to the cheated party 'sorry, you're out too'. It's a knotty situation, but it does feel like they've ended up in the fairest possible place. Edited May 21 by d-d-d-dAz Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted May 21 Paid Members Posted May 21 Looks like Millwall are going to get involved in the Southampton debacle. Millwall are going to claim that the EFL breached their own rules in allowing Southampton to take part in the play-offs because the offence was known about before the play-offs started. They are also going to argue that the EFL rulebook states that the play-off final shall take place between the winners of the play-off semi-finals and that this is not what is happening. I wish we would keep out of it to be honest. Quote
TibBo Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Each team pick 2 players and play WorldCup/Wembley doubles to see who gets promoted. First to 5 wins. Quote

Known about and charged are two separate things. Can't see that one flying I'm afraid mate. Never mind, me and you can do a Zebe-fucking-Dee and Billy Bright right old scrap off next year lemon sunshine slag at Bermondsey station. Bring yer fucking dinner (and some crisps) Quote

Their point is going to be that they should have been charged before the play-offs and they want to know if the reason they weren't is that it would mess with the TV scheduled, which isn't in the rules either. Yeah I think we know the answer to that one don't we? Sky dictate everything, and the EFL are fannies. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted May 21 Paid Members Posted May 21 I think this is going to run and run with other clubs coming with increasingly spurious reasons as to why they were affected. Ilıcalı basically saying that he would consider legal action just casts an even shittier shadow over the whole thing, and reeks of getting your excuses in early. Yes, it sucks to only have a couple of days to prepare for a different team to the one you thought you'd be facing, but surely that's equally true for Middlesborough? The whole thing is a mess. Quote

Paid Members tiger_rick Posted May 21 Paid Members Posted May 21 Gutted for Motherwell to lose Jens Berthel Askou after only one season. He had them playing some incredible football. Easily the most exciting team to watch last season. They looked like they would gatecrash the title race at one point. Must be devastating to lose him after just a year when thoughts would have been turning to whether they could have done something special next season. Hope for their sake that they can find someone as interesting to take them forward. And keep hold of some of the really good players they've got who are at a great age. Quote
