Edit: @Lion_of_the_Midlands possibly not the same at Chelsea but I did see when De Zerbi signed with Spurs that despite it being a 5 year contract, if he left he'd only get a years pay.

I'm not sure you can tell in 3 months that he was out of his depth, but the players there are on such long contacts to get around PSR it would be hard for anyone to motivate them.

I agree with @Lion_of_the_Midlands - he was parachuted into a difficult situation with no time to build his own squad, or bring in the players who might have allowed him to implement his own system. I reckon he’ll end up with another Premier League job, and he’ll end up doing well wherever he goes. I’ve seen him compared to Wilfried Nancy at Celtic, but I don’t think it’s that kind of situation at all.

We’ve all worked for a Liam Rosenior type who comes in spouting all this corporate bollocks with pie charts and Venn diagrams. The only people who respect them are the kiss arses. He’d make Brendan Rodgers cringe.

No way he will get another Premier League job. Last 5 PL games, lost every game and not scored a single, solitary goal. The players only showed what they could do when they battered Port Vale 7-0 in the FA Cup otherwise they would have devalued their own worth.

The quality in that team, the bare minimum is to score goals. The players had given up on Rosenior and turned their back. Last night, against Brighton, Chelsea had 1 shot in the first half. 5 more shots in the 2nd half. None on target!

Caicedo & Fernandez - valued at over £200m lost every dual in centre midfield. They could not be arsed. And this is the problem. These players are on 6 / 7 year contracts. If they don't like a manager they have the power to get rid of him. Because they know they will still be there.

The club is fucked. After they've sold off, the car park, the women's team. The tea ladies kettle to balance the books. They're going to have some PSR problems coming their way.  They've spent so much money on players. Then you look at the bench and it's just kids on there.

Once Spurs go down and De Zerbi bolts. Rosenior might get a job there, but I'm sure he will be happy counting his 5 years paid salary.

PSR is the least of their worries. I read some analysis the other day (can't bloody find it now) that outlined their loan/debt repayments to their investors and what's going to be due soon, and if that's accurate (and it was a reputable source like Swiss Ramble) they are absolutely done for. They won't be able to afford it at all.

I think he will recover but not in the Premier League. He was clearly out of his depth at that level, and the players cottoned on fast.

I will always remember him for his daft "Respect the ball" bollocks. Which led to me turning on the football for Chelsea vs Newcastle and this what I see
