Relegation wouldn't be the end of the world for Spurs, and would more than likely lead to a really enjoyable sesson next year where they walk the Championship.

Go down, have a clear out, enjoy playing football again and come back season after next reinvigorated. The gap is so big now that with Spurs squad and resources theyd walk it like I say. We credit Sunderland for how well they've done, and they have, but they've had to buy a whole new team to do it, yeah they've bought well etc credit to them, but what I'm saying is Championship squads aren't equipped to compete in the Premier League, Spurs squad will still have a lot better players and will be able to spend a bit too.

When we went down first time (Newcastle), it felt like a disaster and we were in an even bigger mess than Spurs, we lost 6-1 at Leyton Orient a few weeks before the season started with our full team! But, we ended up winning the Championship comfortably and within 2 seasons were back in Europe again after finishing 5th! It's not exactly the same obviously but I would say there's some similarities and id expect Spurs to come back up comfortably.

The days of established Premier League clubs going down and staying down are done, its not set up to happen.

Embrace it, it'll be the most fun season you've had in years if our two seasons there are anything to go by and you'll most likely come back up in a much better position than you were.

Well according to the financial experts I've seen, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for Spurs at, erm Champrifice!

It would be a disaster.

I don't disagree with the points of actually enjoying some football, winning games, going new places, the squad would be fairly decent even after selling 80% of them, and it'd be funny for lots of fans, and fair enough. I'm not silly enough to pretend that this isn't very, very funny.

But it'd be a disaster and one that I think would have a massive impact on the club for years. If Spurs go down, there is no guarantee they'd come back up, and if they did come back up, they'd have to spend big, which we won't.

I hear you, and obviously you know far more about your club than I do, but the above is all the same things I was hearing when we got relegated.

I know 2009/10 was a different time, but still, as you say even with selling loads the Spurs squad next season would still be decent, and for me would arguably be better than some in the Premier League, and far better than any in the Championship. The squad that then came up would be ready to compete and just being a big club would allow you to attract better players again.

Maybe Newcastle got lucky, and its completely different now, but we were an absolute mess, we had no manager, an owner that didnt want to be there and couldnt dare attend games, ongoing protests, and just a horrible feeling around the club, yet we still came up very comfortably. As funny as it would be, I can't see Spurs staying down. In fact, like I say I think you'd absolutely walk it.

Obviously ideally you'd stay up and invest for next season and make sure this never happens again, but both times we went down we came back up in a much better place than we were before, especially the first time.

Not having particularly strong feelings about either club in either direction, the chaos scenario I'm hoping for more than Spurs in the Championship is Forest going down and winning the Europa League, thus being in the Championship and Champions League concurrently.

Yes, this was also my dream with Spurs last season and this when we were doing well in the Champions League. Never been done, closest you'll get is some teams in the UEFA Cup in second divisions.

Would this Spurs side be the best team on paper to ever be relegated? The first 11 at least is a list of decent to very good players. Archie Gray, VDV, Romero, Porro, Udogie and if his legs haven’t fallen off Kuluveski will all find top teams next season if they go down. It’s like who ever took over from Levy has watched The Producers and fancied having a go at doing a footy version.

I think the days of seeing relegation as a chance at a rebirth are over. It costs at least £100m for promoted teams to stay up and Spurs would be fucked financially. Yeah teams still bounce back up and make a fist of it but they lose something along the way. The best they could hope for in relegation is that some insidious regime see’s it as a chance to pick them up at a bargain and they get some of that City/Newcastle blood money on the go.

I dunno if you're being serious or not  (actually wouldn't be Brentford, think he burnt his bridges there when he came to us)

If Spurs were to go down, Archie is the sort of player you keep around, and you build around.

For what Spurs paid for him, they wouldn't get anywhere near that, and I've said it before, I think he's a future Spurs captain so they'd be mental to get rid (I also think he might sneak into the World Cup squad on standby but that's an outside bet I'll admit)

He's a wonderful boy and the only real bright point of this season has been seeing him finally being played in his best position and shining like he did against Atletico.

He’s a midfielder who can play out of position at right back. You better hope Arne Slot isn’t at Liverpool next season.

The thing is though Smokey, if you do get relegated then there is no one that doesn't potentially get sold. You've got to think like a Championship club not a Premier League one

They can get the sort of money for Mickey Longlegs and Romero that would subsidise a lot of the players they could keep. Whether the players would be up for staying is another question. 
 

Gray and Bergvail would be the base of a really good championship midfield and you’d think the likes of them  would be on wages more in line with top championship players.

£75k a week would definitely put him at the top end of the Championship wage table. Cant see many teams wanting to pay a similar wage mind so that might be your best bet at keeping him. Depends if Levy had relegation clauses put in contracts.
