Leslie Jones proving it doesn’t matter how rich or famous you are. You can still become that dickhead fan ruining it for everyone else around you. Worst thing she’s done since Ghostbusters. I did laugh at Nigel McGuinness going extremely quiet after suggesting it was Prince Nanna’s mum. Fucking hell, Nige!

I don’t know if her name was mentioned because I had the volume down at points as I’m working, but I had no idea who she was and thought it was a relative mouthing off. Wouldn’t have gone as far as Prince Nana’s mum though.

Ospreay vs Fletcher should’ve cut some of the near falls out of the match as it made it drag just a tiny bit. Still great. The Spanish Fly from the top of the cage should’ve been the finish really. Fletcher sold it for like less than a minute before half standing up and shouting.

Speaking of should haves, Storm vs Mariah really should’ve gone on last. A fantastic match. Storm is great at getting colour. The pop she got for entrance and for the win shows she’s the biggest star they have right now (slightly edging out Ospreay). No one wanted to see old man Cope and a tired Mox.

While i wasn't too bothered about the match placement before, absolute fucking madness that they didn't give the women the show ending. Come on now. Especially with that pointless shit Mox and co put on.

Really great PPV though. One that pretty much delivered on all the expected highlights. They've got so much talent it's insane. I'd steer away from any ex WWE old guy main events though. They've got more than enough others to carry the company. It's just not needed anymore.

I've never really agreed with this until last night.

The company Edge signed for is gone, a relic of a bygone era.

There was a time where it felt like what AEW was was an alternative to WWE on every level; 'we can do everything you do, but we're going to test what happens if we loosen the leash and let the wrestlers explore their craft and their characters more than they have before.'

For me, that was basically the pitch. So you'd want to see CM Punk or Edge or Ambrose or, were they ever to come loose, AJ Styles or Seth Rollins or whoever go to AEW. You'd want to see what they'd do in that environment.

Pre-injury, Edge had a great run and was a great example of the promise of AEW. They took a huge name, cut the cord and let him run free to embrace the challenge of doing different things, trying new styles, and it was great.

AEW was a great big canvas, where wrestlers were encouraged to just get creative with the only brief seemingly being 'let's celebrate wrestling'.

I'd argue that era is dead. Cope's injury might have been the catalyst, or it might have been the (sensible) move to smaller arenas and embracing a more streamlined business model. But the company feels different. It feels more confident about what it is and what it isn't. It seems to be on the road to accepting that it can't be all things to all people and it's less about being a broad canvas, and more about painting a very specific picture about what AEW is.

And what AEW is, currently, is Toni Storm, Swerve Strickland, MJF, Hangman, Takeshita, Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher. Kenny Omega is it's soul.

This show was so good because it had so many of AEW's greatest elements interacting in a meaningful way.

It ended so badly because it felt like watching something from a different era. Like if WWE ended last years Wrestlemania with a Jinder Mahal title match.

Mox and Cope don't belong anymore.

I bit the bullet and watched this show in the small hours to avoid spoilers, and they absolutely should have closed the show with Storm/May. It’s one of the best things they’ve ever done, and it deserves that prominence. If that feud didn’t get to close a PPV, what chance does a women’s match ever have of doing that in AEW?

Moxley/Copeland bored the shit out of me to the point I didn’t watch the end of it and went to sleep. I checked the result out in the morning, and I feel like I made the right choice.

The rest of the show was great, although I agree that the Outrunners showed exactly why there’s no value in pushing them at this stage. Credit to them for getting as over as they have with such limited wrestling ability in a company which prides itself on in-ring action.

Hangman feels like he has a heck of a lot of momentum right now - he has to be the person to end Moxley’s title reign, I think. Swerve being the next challenger sets that up nicely, as we can have that magical moment when Hangman saves his bitter rival from the worst stable in wrestling, and Swerve can return the favour when they intervene to try keep Hangman from winning his second world title.

Mox could do with going back to WWE

Did see people elsewhere saying 'well Mox and Cope' are just some ex-WWE guys main eventing, and like others I find that such a cop out thing. Especially since Mox isn't that far off having the same TV run as his WWE run. When does Mox stop being a WWE guy exactly?

The only worry I had for Toni/Mariah going on last would be regardless of how hot the angle was they could have met a burnt out crowd which is common. But I reckon they'd have got around that, dunno if you throw Mox/Cope on before it and that booking then annoys the crowd for if you put the Women on after etc.

Still, I thought it was an all-timer PPV with a mega card and a main event that was there. AEW Spring Stampede 1999 was one for the books.

As @RedTwostersays, what chance do the women have main eventing? Personally I don't think it actually matters, and whilst some may argue it shows a fear of progressiveness and at the absolute worst corners of online debates, sexism (it's not), I reckon maybe Toni/Mone one day? Dunno, but if the women are being able to go out and put matches of that quality together, I'm not entirely fussed about the placement, the match itself was good enough for me. Plus if it DID main they'd be the usual bad faith, especially with the glass.

I'm still laughing at MJF smacking Page in the face with his dick. He's recovered guys, and Hangman Page dragged him out the gutter like Selma Bouvier. That Angel's Wings from Hangman felt like a 'and THIS is what you get for fucking about with Adam Cole for months. Get good again!'

Shame about The Outrunners. I absolutely adore them but they are what they are, slightly iffy, but I do like them wrestling to the gimmick as opposed to not and the simple variety they bring much like MxM. Had your shot lads and hopefully they don't just get buried, but take up a nice mid team spot as they're still over and hoofing merch (though whoever's idea it was to change their music was the kind of person who probably thought yeah Cope/Mox on last? Good for me).

When he gets to be passable as a wrestler, which is never because he is dogshit and drags down everything he is involved in.

A superb show that showcased everything that AEW is great at. The one thing I would say, and I could not disagree with Chili's take more. Storm v May had to go on last. They literally had a massive screen with THE END on it. The final shots of them laid on the stage from above with the Hollywood table laid above them as the camera changes to show THE END in black and white on the big screen is the perfect end to the show. If Tony as booker is either not clever enough to work that out or not strong enough to say to Mox that he isn't going on last it leads me to believe the rest happened by some sort of miracle.

That's ok and it's fine you disagree with me @Lion_of_the_Midlands. I'm glad we both really enjoyed the show.

See how easy it is! Good grief I'd hate for social media wrestling fans to discover here. I'm glad we're basically an online phoenix night's wrestling social club for old farts.

The one good thing I'm enjoying from the Death Riders is Wheeler Yuta growing his hair and beard like Danielson and skimming a few of his old ROH heels spots, like he's haunted by what he did to Bryan out of peer pressure and is subconsciously morphing into him. I genuinely like the Yuta stuff because it's less of a 'constantly swerving the audience' and more a guy terrified of being a billy no mates. It'll be great when he eventually beats Claudio or something. PAC really is the odd-one in that group, I get they did what they did and I really like him, but it feels a waste investing in him now if you can't seem to run anything consistent because he insists on coming home for a stottie every other week.

I'm officially old as dirt and I am owning it but I have found myself really not enjoying these overly long stunt show matches that seem to have become the trend over the past 5 or 6 years. I didn't particularly enjoy Zayn/Owens and I found myself rolling my eyes at times during the cage match and the women's match.

I get it's the 'in thing' and that I am one of the old farts that shouts at clouds but I feel like I know when the match is announced that it's going to be a 20 minute long stunt show where they kick out of everything and look shocked and it does nothing for me.

Sorry to be grumpy. My back hurts, modern music is shit and kids these days just have no respect anymore. I'm off for a nice cuppa and a lie down.

Call me hyperbolic, but I think there might be some real benefits to having two mainstream promotions.

It was a fantastic show with a really poor main event. I heard people say it was an 8/9 out of 10 show until the main event pushed down to a 6. Idiots. One bad match on a card, main event or not, does not drag the rest thats come before. Otherwise we'd never remember Wrestlemania X8 fondly if that was true.

I hope following the post match angle Sweve beats Mox and I don't want to see it at Dynasty, or Double or Nothing or even All In Texas. I want to see it on Dynamite in 2 weeks time. Get it done, so we can move the focus back to the belt without the Deathriders around it.

He broke into his house! He took a video with his sleeping infant and threatened the man's family! Hangman's wife wouldn't put the kid down for 3 days afterward, slept on the floor of the nursery, woke up at every creaking floorboard. Hangman went home and couldn't look his family in the eye. They had to move somewhere totally new, uproot their lives, just because Swerve wanted his spot. It Swerve's fault that Hangman became the man he is today, Swerve's fault he  retired Christopher Daniels. Stop trying to make them friends!
