Looking at the match card it looks like one of the best match cards aew has ever done. The main event isn't the best though in my opinion

The main event will likely be an excellent violent match but yeah, I just don't care for either guy right now even if the feud has gotten better in recent weeks as the Deathriders are destroyed.

I wish the event was last night though, Saturday PPV's should be the norm and not just a little treat.

Collision spoiler aside, I’m bang up for this. Reportedly already sold over ten thousand tickets. Second highest attended Revolution pay per view in history. A testament to how quickly the creative has turned around, as well as their reputation of always delivering on pay per view. Should look and sound great.

Boldest move they could make is sending out Moxley vs. Copeland first, as the opener. It’s one of the weakest built matches on the show, there’s no way they’re going to be able to follow some of the stuff planned, so why the fuck not?Prediction: Moxley wins after Jay White turns on Cope. Seems obvious after Dynamite. Cope feuds with the newly reunited Bang Bang Gang. Moxley goes on to feud with Swerve, Ospreay and Hangman. Like Dr. Sam Beckett never returning home, Christian Cage never cashes in.

I wasn’t aware The Hollywood Ending was falls count anywhere. Did they mention that on TV, or only on social media? Should be great fun. I’d have them brawl out of the arena and do some daft stunts on location. Have Mariah steal a gold Cadillac from Dustin Rhodes. Race to a local theatre.

I still have a sneaking suspicion Luther will turn on Toni here. I’m thinking this, with Luther hitting her with the shoe.

However, considering this is being sold as their final bout, I’ll go with my head rather than my heart. Prediction: Toni wins. Literally drops a curtain on Mariah. End scene. Takes a bow.

Either way though, whether Toni or Mariah win, surely it’s only a matter of time before they pull the trigger on this.

Good lord. Pissing star power. A genuine dream match. All the marquee of Britt Baker vs. Mercedes, only without one participant shitting the bed so spectacularly.

Outrunners vs. Hurt Syndicate should be a fun squash. I’ll be on the hook for any hope spots, but let’s get real, you sonsofbitches. Prediction: Hurt Syndicate win. And then the Young Bucks’ music hits. A huge, hot, California crowd? Yeah, this is the show they return. Bank on it.

Takeshita vs. Omega is fascinating just to see what Omega looks like. Was the Australia tag match, where he screwed up a few times, an anomaly? Can we blame Honey I Shrunk the Ring? Or is he officially a step below his previous, God-like self? Prediction: Omega wins in a fantastic four and a half star bout. He isn’t what he used to be. He still remains one of the best in the world.

MJF vs. Hangman feels absolutely massive. It’s a toss up on what’s been the greatest pivot of the year thus far. The Rock’s mumbling nonsense leading to the Cena turn, or MJF going, “LOL dead mate,” to Double J leading to this. Can’t wait. Suspect they might steal the show. Prediction: MJF wins. Hangman becomes even introspective. Starts a mini feud with Ricochet that leads to the inevitable teaming up with Swerve. Eventually saves the whole company from Mox.

Swerve vs. Ricochet seems the easiest to predict. Prediction: Swerve wins, goes on to face Mox in some crazy Death Matches. Swerve deserves all the flowers in the world for the last six months. Made Lashley. Turned Ricochet’s career around. Even recognised as one of the best, I still think Swerve is underrated. He fucking rules!

I’d consider main eventing with Ospreay vs. Fletcher. These lads? With that gimmick? It’d be genuinely cruel to ask anyone to follow them. I thought this was cool. Full list of cage matches AEW have done. Quite the lineage. Some of the best matches or angles in company history.

Am I right in thinking this is one of the first times Will has had a cage match on the big stage? The only other time I can think of is that New Japan War Games match. I equally cannot wait and am terrified of what they come up with! Prediction: Double juice, Ospreay wins with a Phoenix Splash off the cage. Seven stars.

This show almost feels like a turning point for the company. They've been on fire recently, almost everyone is seemingly putting on their best work, top stars all have good shit going on, a focus on despicable heels and loveable babyfaces, the booking all seems to be lining up in the right place...after a uneven and massively inconsistent few years it feels like just maybe another big quality run is on the cards.

Wow, I was similar to @HarmonicGenerator in that I thought one of the wrestlers involved was gone. He’s one of the worst that AEW has ever had, this has the potential to be absolutely horrendous. But if I was Tony Khan, I can’t say I wouldn’t be tempted to make the match just to see what the fuck happens when the bell rings.

...yeah I'd have probably put the Women on last. Bit like an old WCW PPV that where you get an absolute menagerie of different awesome matches and then a bit of a workmanlike but meh main event, but I also get why they had Mox/Cope close with the angles at the end. What a show though, good grief a lot of folk are very good at the wrestling aren't they?

The moment The Death Riders angle started, you could smell Moxley wanting to do his own version of Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. What an irony that rather than become The Tribal Chief, he’s actually became 2018 Roman Reigns. A man trapped in an objectively bad, dead-end run, having terrible main events that kill the vibe of even the best show. And fuck me this was one of the very best ever until Cope and Mox came out. Has there ever been a main event as bad as that, headlining a show otherwise as good as this? The juxtaposition was insane. Never mind it being like two different companies. It was like two different dimensions!

Was it Summerslam 2018 where they pretended Braun Strowman would cash in, just to inject a bit of life into the Brock vs. Roman main event, and trick the fans into thinking what they were watching wasn’t absolute shit? Same vibes here.

Funny that Christian did the job, too.

Let’s focus on the positives though. The majority of this show absolutely ruled. Everyone was drowning in stars.

One of my biggest pet peeves in pro-wrestling is when the house or a TV rating is wrongly attributed to stuff that happens on the show itself. “They had a great match or a big angle, which is why THIS EXACT SHOW did good business.” No, if it wasn’t advertised and people weren’t expecting it, you can attribute future business, but not the business of that singular show itself. Anyway, I’ve completely changed my mind on that. Against all sense and logic, I truly believe the approximately 12,000 people in attendance was because The Rizzler dressed as Orange Cassidy. Five big booms from me.

Jericho angle sucked, but then so would a match, so it was lose-lose. At least that’s another date ticked off his contract.

Spectacular match between Hangman and MJF. Loved MJF trolling with Hangman’s old music. Great opener. We believe in you, Hangman!

Leslie Jones proving it doesn’t matter how rich or famous you are. You can still become that dickhead fan ruining it for everyone else around you. Worst thing she’s done since Ghostbusters. I did laugh at Nigel McGuinness going extremely quiet after suggesting it was Prince Nanna’s mum. Fucking hell, Nige!

Phenomenal match between Swerve and Ricochet. Crazy chemistry together. I’d be up for another match when Swerve is the Champion.

I hope Swerve complained about that fella drumming him to the ring though. Literally your only job is to stay on beat! He was miles off!

I’ll never doubt Kenny Omega again. An actual God.

Will Ospreay is the best wrestler in the world. Max Caster’s funny run should end with him just handing over the trademark. Thoughts and prayers to Seth Rollins and CM Punk, doing a cage match tomorrow. Oh, to be a fly on the wall when they’re putting that match together. Already don’t like each other. Seth’s wife is being a complete moron on Twitter. And now they’ve got to follow that.

One more quick negative. The Outrunners were exposed. Truth Magnum looked genuinely lost out there. I don’t blame them for giving it a go, but I’d quickly return them to pre-taped Collision matches. You son of a bitch!

Mariah May and Toni Storm stole the show. Match of the year candidate and their storyline as a whole is arguably the best thing this company has ever done. Certainly up there with Swerve vs. Hangman, Hangman vs. Omega and MJF vs. Punk. I don’t know what she’s doing differently, but Toni Storm is the best bleeder in the game today. Every time, she makes it look like an actual crime scene. This is equally the most incredible and terrifying image I’ve ever seen. My son wanted to watch this show to see The Rizzler and Costco Guys. Not a fucking chance I’m letting him watch this!

Whole thing was an actual work of art. What a triumph. Take a bow. However, there was one flaw I can’t stop thinking about.

Imagine if Toni and Mariah main evented this show, they closed on that scene, faded to black, and then ran some credits. Actual rolling credits, listing Tony Khan as Director, RJ City as Executive Producer, Mariah May as, “The Woman from Hell,” etc. How fucking perfect would that have been? Would have been the greatest ending to any pay per view in history. Instead, we had Mox and Cope stinking out the joint, both refusing to do business, with the company left screaming, “NO HONESTLY! WE PROMISE IT’LL GO TO SWERVE SOON! PLEASE! WE’RE SORRY!”

Imagine how unstoppable this company could be if Y2J and Dean Ambrose went back to WWE as a package deal. Save us, Hunter!
