It almost feels mad for a wrestling character to admit something like it without losing something in a way, but a big moment for both Swerve and Hangman to find a way in storyline to genuinely apologise to each other for their actions. I dunno why, I just like the idea of admittance, acknowledgment and genuine forgiveness being a big stage in the next chapter of their story, because them revisiting each other is definitely going to happen.

I guess I understand why someone might feel that way. The main event does matter in the sense its conclusion is going to set the tone for the ‘feeling’ that sticks with you once the show is over. The best example I’d give of that is Revolution 2021 - a cracking card, with a damp squib ending thanks to the ‘exploding ring’ failing to explode. 

And I have to admit, I do feel that Storm and May were robbed of that main event slot and I feel a bit deflated by that. They’ve had one of the best feuds in wrestling in recent memory, and arguably the best women’s storyline in a US wrestling company, ever. Moxley and Copeland, on the other hand have had an unremarkable feud that is doomed to be forgotten about. 

And frankly, how many people are watching AEW for Moxley and Copeland these days, compared to Storm and May? I can’t imagine it’s many. I really want Khan to recognise the value of the AEW women’s division and the people in it. It’s the best thing in wrestling right now, and I’m not at all certain Tony realises that.

Khan needs to worry less about the quarter hour metrics, and just follow his heart and that of the crowd. The pacing of the show was all over the place.

And actually just putting all his faith in the "homegrown" talents. I get it. It's fun for him to be able to work with some of the older guys that have come from elsewhere. But they've got a shit ton of "new" and exciting talent that he can absolutely build the future of AEW on, and he often gets sidetracked with others.

I can't speak for this show but I would definitely say that when rewatching old Wrestlemanias the quality of the main event can determine whether I bother or not, and that includes Wrestlemania X8. It's not an unusual thought process, in TV, Film or Wrestling.

I caught the end of the main event here though because I was watching that clip of the cast of Queen of The Ring killing kayfabe before it and was curious at how bad it was. Wow that's an all time bad PPV ending isn't it?
That was a WCW ending you'd read about in the Death of WCW. Christian causes a DQ but the ref doesn't call it because he wants to cash in, which makes no sense because it wasn't a triple threat at the time he whacked COPE in the head. Then he taps to a single headlock.

I saw the end to the Toni Storm match too and there's no doubt even without seeing the matches and just seeing the endings that it should have went on last.

They should just never do the cash in again, ever. That just killed it. Christian looked like a joke, and I can't help but think that it was purely so Cope didn't have to take a clean loss.

You’re probably right, but I also suspect they recognised that ripping off Money in the Bank wasn’t the best idea and wanted to scrap the whole thing and move on. I really hope this doesn’t lead to more Christian/Copeland, though. Swerve/Hangman this is not.

I refuse to believe they're not going to do Hurt Business / C&C Music Factory at All In Texas or something. I'd start working the gears into getting that reunion going.

Yeah I think last night was them clicking into Edge & Christian, the final run.

Its an easy write-in too. Cope confronts Christian with; 'We might be two old geezers who individually can't win a world title, but fuck it together we've still got one last run in us.' Christian broods, no pun intended, fucks off for a bit before eventually coming back to make the save after some tag team or another is beating down Cope.

They're both better workers than The Hardyz, I'd also give them a thank you title run regardless of their age. It's pretty much going to be both men's final big run and neither are that washed so they'll probably have some real bangers.

Swerve is so unbelievably over, and not just with Leslie Jones. He's made Ricochet look fantastic, just as he does with everyone else. Time to put the title back on Swerve at Dynasty, get Kendrick Lamar to play him to the ring at All In, and maybe don't bring the drummer this time.

Some of the sequences on that ppv had me losing my shit. Swerve's double powerbomb in to the powerslam. MJF reversing the tombstone and planting Hangman on the chair. Everything that Ospreay, Kenny, Fletcher and Takeshita did. 

Adored the ending of Omega Vs Takeshita, how very Bret Hart of Kenny, to win a big match with a pinning predicament.

Toni and Mariah should have main evented, that was a phenomenal showing by the two of them, even JR did a good job on Comms for that match. Hats off.

I forgot to mention, the damn Kickboxer spot in Toni Vs Mariah was brilliant!!

I forwarded through the title match when I saw there were 30 minutes left on the show. No one needs to watch Cope going 30 minutes, ever. The closing stretch was decent, they've got away from that cash in nonsense, maybe Jay White can get a good match out of Cope, and Swerve looked like Batman to close the show.

Wonderful PPV.

Yeah, I agree with this. The tag division needs a shot in the arm, and having Edge and Christian reunite would certainly provide that. Plus, I’d love to see them face The Bucks or FTR. 

The one downside to this would be losing Christian as a top heel - Copeland needs Christian far more than the opposite, in my opinion. I’d also love to see Christian win the World title before his run in AEW is over. Despite being widely dismissed when joining the company, he’s ended up being one of their best ever signings. While I don’t typically believe in giving wrestlers a world title win because they deserve it, I’d make an exception in this case.
