I genuinely would like to see The Hurt Syndicate retain but The Outrunners get something approaching what The Acclaimed got at All Out 2022. For some reason to me, having The Hurt Syndicate just absolutely smash them gives me 'punished for getting over' vibes but I'm probably overthinking.

Anyway, good grief what a card!

Incredible card but an exhausting looking one. I'll definitely be watching it in portions rather than one viewing. Storm/May should be main event...but it won't be.

Especially when they do there usual "add 6 matches at the last minute so everyone gets on the show" type deal.

Kept at that current card it looks a belter.

There won't be a better card of pro-wrestling all year. I don't know how All In comes close to this. I'm not counting Zero Hour, obviously.

Be interesting to see where heel wins come on this card. Mercedes is a lock. Ricochet could win but I'd worry that spoils the main event. MJF & Fletcher look other possible candidates but I don't want to see Hangman or Ospreay lose at this point. Same for Kenny & Toni.

Obviously you need some heels winning and moving up but this show is stacked with brilliant, popular babyfaces and I wouldn't want to beat any of them. A dilemma.

They've booked themselves into a position where there's a bunch of matches that feel like both opponents shouldn't lose which is a really great place to be because it makes them feel unpredictable and must see. It makes it tricky from a booking perspective but that's a good thing. The big PPV matches should be like that.

What a card, I’m absolutely gutted it’s on a Sunday, I know I’ll struggle to avoid spoilers on the Monday.

I don’t think AEW punishes acts for getting over - but I do think The Hurt Syndicate absolutely smashing The Outrunners would be a totally logical outcome. It gives Outrunners a mountain to climb, being forced to prove themselves; before coming up against The Hurt Syndicate again, and perhaps even winning.

I find The Outrunners enormously entertaining, but I do think it’s too soon for The Hurt Syndicate to lose, and perhaps for Outrunners to win.

Definitely right. Mercedes and The Hurts are the biggest locks on the card. They're in the position where if they lost, I'd not be surprised, I'd be appalled.

It does feel like it should be a very babyface-heavy card, but sometimes that's how it should be. A ton of babyfaces going over could be the sign that they're getting back on track and focused to finally unite against the Death Riders.

Predictions:

Mox vs. Cope - I think Moxley goes over here, followed by a big post-match angle; maybe the Death Riders trying to end Cope's career a la Danielson? There's always the possibility of Cope winning and Christian Cage cashing in, though. I'm going to go with an outside the box prediction that just occurred to me, though - Moxley wins, either tries to or actually does do something horrific to Cope post-match, and Christian comes to his aid, maybe even cashing in unsuccessfully to try and get his revenge there and then, setting up the Edge & Christian reunion run in time for All In.

Hollywood Ending - Toni has to win this one; Grand Slam was about getting the belt and the hometown pop, this is about the catharsis of finally ending the feud and bloodying up Mariah.

International Title - Kenny wins, goes on to face Okada for both belts at All In.

MJF vs. Hangman Page - could go either way; heart says Hangman, head says MJF - Hangman was apparently a course correction feud when they abandoned the Jarrett stuff, which suggests there's a more substantial plan for MJF right now than for Page. But it will happen in such a way that whoever loses has something to work with coming out of it, so I don't think it's quite a "neither can afford to lose" situation, as both men have characters that will be affected by a big loss.

Swerve vs. Ricochet - I can't shake the feeling that Prince Nana turns heel here, and is going to side with Ricochet and formally award him the Embassy robe. Where that leaves us with Ricochet as number one contender against, if all my predictions come in, a heel champion, I don't know, but AEW isn't averse to the odd heel vs. heel match, even if I think this particular one would be a mistake. The alternative is Swerve wins, and moves inexorably closer to both the World Title and the orbit of Hangman Page, possibly having to become uncomfortable allies against the Death Riders - Hangman having to team with Swerve and Jay White, two men he hates, against a bigger threat, is the kind of story the Death Riders should be doing. I think if Hangman wins his match, Swerve wins his, though maybe with Ricochet getting his heat back post-loss with another scissor attack on Swerve or Nana.

Cage Match - probably Ospreay, though I'm going to say Fletcher just for the balance of the card to have another heel win, with the cage not doing its job of keeping people out. That would extend the feud, though, and it feels like this should really be it for Ospreay vs. Don Callis for the foreseeable future. Hedging my bets on this one.

TBS Title - Moné, no question.

Tag Title - Hurt Syndicate, though hopefully the Outrunners get a good showing.

Who on earth is Momo Watanabe?

Jesus Christ. She's been on the weekly TV for the past few weeks so I assume you haven't been watching. Or just Google it? Or maybe just shut the fuck up.

I thnik the Hurt Business absolutely will and should smash the Outrunners to pieces. I like the Outrunners a lot but they're a comedy act with a ceiling. Being destroyed gives the Hurt Business more heat, gives the Outrunners sympathy and if the Outrunners show a bit of fire and defiance should get them more over.

Charming ?

Thanks for the excellent insight, I didn't realise question's were not allowed about a wrestler on a wrestling forum.

So, for anyone who might be willing to give a sensible answer, who is she? Presume fairly new, or just stopping by from another promotion as I have genuinely never heard of her. Only really skim read and watch any bits that look interesting these days.

I wouldn’t mind an MJF victory, forcing further introspection for Hangman. Assuming the ultimate pay off is an Anarchy in the Arena match the Don Callis Family vs. Ospreay and the Super Best Friends, I think Fletcher could win, too.

It’s definitely a good sign though. After the Winter of HEAT that we’ve had, with The Death Riders running roughshod to such a degree that three quarters of the roster have stopped even trying to fight them, it’s about time we got some babyface catharsis. Now that I’ve mentioned it, did we ever see John Silver again after he ran off into the night? Has anyone checked on him? Is he okay?

I’m nowhere near as down on Moxley retaining as I was a few weeks ago, but I still can’t get over that finish in Australia, where Mox beat Cope by simply being the hardest man alive. I don’t think you do something like that unless Mox is losing at the pay per view. Christian is one of Tony Khan’s favourites, isn’t he? I bet he’d love Christian cashing in and wining the World Title from Edge. An E-Fedder’s dream!

They should fly in Todd Pettengill to interview The Outrunners on the pre-show.

Most important result is Omega beating Takeshita, to kick off the Summer of Unifications. Time to start collecting these belts, Cleaner! Beat Takeshita for the International Title, beat Okada for the Continental Title, to ultimately create…the Inter-Continental Title!

But yeah, an amazing looking card. A line-up like that, coming a week after an angle like that. Pro-wrestling is absolutely class, man.

This but in reverse, please. War Takeshita!
