I honestly think he said "I want a ceasefire" and that was the end of the discussion. The only person talking about it was him and he's reacted typically mature and statesmanlike that almost before the announcement it was still going on.

Allegedly the terms were basically "Israel can bomb for 12 more hours, Iran don't and do not retaliate then no more bombing from anyone" but how true that reporting is I wouldn't want to say. It sounds silly enough for a Trump pitch but surely even he wouldn't actually expect people to just agree to that.

It's almost as if he's finding out for himself that Israel's government has always done what it wants, whatever the US or the rest of the international community say about it, and that he's got no more influence on them than any previous presidents.

I will say this: it's going to be intriguing to see how he responds. Previous presidents let Israel off because of wider political forces and alliances, and entrenched lobbying frameworks. His only motivation for doing anything politically is gratification of his fragile ego and, occasionally, monetary gain. It'll be interesting to see whether Netanyahu's mobilising of Zionist resources will leash him, or if he's going to have to deal with the US' immense military and economic power being vindictively used against him because he pissed off the monkey with the machine gun.

As part of that, the bloke off of Fox and Friends will now be known as the Secretary for War with the whole rebrand that will see the department revert back to its pre-WW2 name estimated to cost a billion dollars.

It does feel as if Trump is starting to lose mental capacity, which is remarkable given the high bar of lunacy he’s spent decades erecting.

Trump is being blackmailed or manipulated by Israel to go along with it’s intentions and that Israel have compromising information/pictures of Trump that were provided to them by Jeffrey Epstein?

It seems like there is always more Epstein/Trump to come and that it’s release is being slow played or drip fed. It seems like the knockout blow is yet to come ….but that it is coming.

My favourite Epstein thing is the entirely innocuous email that has the word "don't" redacted as thought somebody is using the find function to seek out every instance of "Don T" just to cover his arse. Weird that Melania made that statement yesterday as well.

Trump didn't have to be bribed or coerced to do anything. He's legitimately that shit.

What I'm finding even more flabbergasting is that the US government under him is actually engaging in mediaeval politics, threatening Leo XIV with an Avignon Papacy if he continues to criticise Trump. In a way, it's a horrifyingly smart move, because they get a lot of support from conservative Latinx people, who presumably were experiencing some personal dilemmas regarding their loyalty to their politics and to their faith - the Pentagon publicising that it's prepared to enact historical precedent gives them a way around that dilemma.
