westlondonmist Posted April 26 Posted April 26 For a country full of guns and that has daily mass shootings, they ain't half shit at marksmanship. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 26 Paid Members Posted April 26 My mum is absolutely convinced that Trump organised this himself. He never goes to the Correspondents Dinner because traditionally they take the piss and the President himself is expected to be funny. The one time he goes is during the middle of an unpopular war when his approval rating is in the toilet and the Republicans look like they are going to get a hiding in the mid-terms. Then he gets shot at. She will not have it that this isn't staged by Trump. Quote

WyattSheepMask Posted April 26 Posted April 26 So we’re in agreement, this is a distraction to distract from the distraction of the other other thing, right? Quote

Wideload90 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I'm really trying to believe that this is a genuine attempt on his life, but I don't believe that the security would allow this to happen. The fact he held a press conference so soon afterwards is madness. Quote
Merzbow Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Not even blade job this time? Minus 5 stars. Did the shooter conveniently drop a passport? Quote

I've seen a picture of him shirtless and face down in handcuffs and his name, Cole Thomas Allen couldn't be much more American could it? Not unless he was called Eagle Gun McFlag. I also noticed that the Secret Service agents got Vance off the stage first. Trump won't like that. Quote
Merzbow Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Vance as president is the end goal from Thiel, innit. Gotta save him. Quote

Vance hardly looked surprised either, almost like he knew something was going to happen.... Quote
wordsfromlee Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Marjorie Taylor Greene was convinced the first assassination attempt was staged so she'll be right on this one too, the mad old bint. Quote

Paid Members Scratch Posted April 26 Paid Members Posted April 26 When it was all kicking off and people at the event were ducking for cover, Trump and Melania didn’t pay any attention as if they weren’t aware anything was happening, which seems weird. It’s like when your takeaway delivery pulls up outside and you absolutely don’t want them to know you’ve spotted them for fear they’ll rumble you for checking the window every 5 seconds for the past hour. Paid Members BomberPat Posted April 27 Paid Members Posted April 27 from the sounds of it, the gunman was apprehended before he got anywhere near Trump. I don't buy into conspiracy theories when they come from the right, and I'm no quicker to accept claims of "false flag events" when they come from people I would otherwise agree with either - Trump's an immensely unpopular president, in a country with a massive gun problem, amid rising political violence, the Occam's Razor explanation is that, yes, somebody was trying to shoot him or people around him. Frankly, it's amazing it doesn't happen more often. But people looking to Trump's reactions, or the behaviour of people around him, assumes that the shooter was right there and not that Trump was being hustled out as a security protocol and the shooter was elsewhere in the building.
