Just watching Rock ramble around the car park, I wish he'd managed to find his way onto Punk's bus.

I’m convinced with the Gunther and Goldberg interaction we are getting that match in Saudi and Sami is winning the belt tonight thanks to Goldberg interference. Not sure how I feel about any of that but can definitely see it happening.

If they do that they should definitely have Bron interfere in the Saudi match setting up a Goldberg match down the line. Even better if he can put his uncles Phantom of the Opera mask on for it.

Watched the Cell match again. It’s fucking amazing. Forget WWE match of the year. This is up there against anything your Ospreays, Swerves or Danielsons did all year. Distilled hatred.

I’ve concluded it’s a balancing act with CM Punk. You don’t want him too happy and healthy that he’s just having a nice time, delivering okay promos and matches. You don’t want him too knackered and pissed off that he nearly kills your company and fucks off home. You want that sweet spot where he’s got a huge chip on his shoulder, has something to prove, and is given the opportunity to shove it up everyone’s arse. Let’s check in with the Eye-Bag-O-Meter!

Yep. We’re right there, right now. The sweet spot. The furious genius. Hopefully it lasts longer than it did in AEW, but either way I’ll make sure I enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Thanks for tagging me. I've just watched the match in question. If you want my thoughts, I'm 50/50 in terms of I think both wrestlers deserve the utmost respect for such a performance, yet I do think it was a bit OTT in terms of the violence. I'm from the Bret Hart school of thought where ideally a match should look as real as possible but the wrestlers should be as safe as realistically possible. Foley and Hardy entertained us in the same way and paid the price in terms of their body. Neither Drew or Punk would want to end up like that.

I'm not going to tell you I didn't enjoy the match though, as I'm not going to lie to you. It was a great match and great accomplishment for Drew and Punk. It doesn't change the fact that I think that the best wrestling is entertaining for kids, families and adults alike, and has a level of violence that only occasionally strays over a certain line and the wrestlers aren't nearly killing themselves for our entertainment.

@LaGoosh, you went to the effort of tagging me in your post to obviously provoke a response. Should I assume as you've not responded to me that you're in agreement with what I've had to say?

Come on now, don't beg for needless agg in a thread where we're broadly all in agreement that something was good.

Let's all pull together and keep this train on the tracks. It hardly ever happens, especially when CM Punk is the conductor.

Fascinated at the insurance costs for Rock's movie projects if he wrestles a War Games match, of all things.
