I'm not sure the type of match will increase the insurance premiums, will it? Surely the fact that it's not real matters? Like you could call it a 'knife up the arse' match, but providing you're not intending on having someone stick an actual knife up your arse it shouldn't be an issue for the entertainment insurers they use. I'm not even sure it's something insurers would care about, besides maybe the possibility of the cage collapsing on his head maybe. "So Mr Johnson, we see your returning to professional wrestling and at your age, with the amount of substances you allegedly have up to your alleged eyeballs we're going to insure you for... WAIT A MINUTE? A WAR GAMES MATCH? A MATCH CREATED BY DUSTY RHODES, FAMOUS FOR ITS BRUTALITY? Well, I'm sorry Mr Johnson but there's no telling what my Tribal Chief will do to you under such circumstances.." The insurance will be the exact same, he'll know what he can or can't do and it'll be fine, surely? Quote

d-d-d-dAz Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Big Dave Meltzer has started a Twitter melee by suggesting Rock has told WWE he can't work Wrestlemania. In typical Dave fashion, he says 'Rock has told them he's not working Mania... but if he does work it..' etc etc so he's trying to cover his arse, but will be such a shame if they can't get him. Plus, if they can't get him I reckon they'll try for the Cody/Roman hat trick. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 But Austin sounded like a strong possibility for Mania I think? I'd take him, and let Rock work some other event.. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted October 11, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 11, 2024 Could be a thread in it's own right but who would people have Austin work at WrestleMania? The CM Punk match has been rumoured to be something Punk wants for years. It's maybe a shame he didn't turn heel when Drew was cooking him on Twitter every day, that would have been perfect for him shithousing his way into a match with Austin. He still could, I guess, especially if he's working Rollins next as others have said in the Raw thread. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted October 11, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted October 11, 2024 The Rock has been brilliant since becoming The Final Boss, so it’ll be a shame if he can’t make Mania, but you assume/hope this means CM Punk vs. Stone Cold is now more likely. It’s the match to make. CM Punk finally turning heel, calling out the fucking Texas Rattlesnake! The match you never thought you’d see. It’ll be massive. Anyone preferring to see Punk slum it with Seth, “ah, fuck off,” Rollins needs their head checked. No point checking Stone Cold’s head, of course. CTE isn’t real! Don’t believe in it! Quote
The King of Old School Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 (edited) I'd be amazed if they have done all this with the Rock for a all of a sudden he "can't make" Mania now like he's forgot he has a haircut that day or something. The Rock will be there. Edited October 11, 2024 by The King of Old School Quote
Doog Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Yeah it'd be proper odd if he's out now. The whole angle since Rock joined has been leading to WrestleMania 41, Rock even said in an interview a couple of months ago that there's big plans for the "Final Boss" there etc. Would be a real shitter if he didn't make it. Thankfully, it's only Dave Meltzer with the 'scoop' so it more than likely means he'll be there. Quote
