The big one stink like Bushwacker Butch's biffin bridge but the smaller ones that live at more tropical climbs not so much. The Madagascan ones smell of vanilla. Quote

Paid Members JLM Posted September 26, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 26, 2024 Would thoroughly recommend tapirs. Very affectionate and one of them fell asleep standing up due to neck brushing. Oh also ring tailed lemurs! They gave us a hollowed out log with mashed up banana inside it. Brandishing that makes you the lemur god. Absolutely covered in lemurs, it was marvellous. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted September 26, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 26, 2024 yeah, we did a Meet The Lemurs thing at Hoo Zoo (home to the recently escaped capybara), and they were just leaping all over anyone that might have, or be near to, food. Them getting their clammy little hands on my face felt properly weird, though - it was pissing it down, so I had my hood up, and it meant I had no peripheral vision, which isn't really ideal when there's tiny little fellas leaping all over the place. As well as them and penguins, I've done two Meerkat meets, and that's always a good time. And yeah, penguins don't smell too bad, just of fish, and not that strongly. There are definitely stinkier animals. Quote

The Servals and Arctic Fox one. This is our first animal experience so hoping it’s really good. We’d love to do the penguins one as well. As much as I hate birds, I think I could tolerate them and not panic. Quote

Taste is subjective obviously but there is no way The Hateful Eight is a better film than Jackie Brown. Hateful 8 is brilliant if you're in it's vibe. It's basically Tarantino doing a play with a bit of blue planet filmography thrown in. Some great nature shots then loads of character actors stuck in a room with each other playing off each other delivering mountains of dialogue. Plus if you're a Shield (or many of the other things he subsequently was great in) fan you get to see Walton Goggins essentially get the big push from midcarder to main eventer which is very satisfying if you love niche TV character actors who never seem to get used to their full potential in films. Not everyone's cup of tea and yeah you can probably argue it's one of his lesser films in the more nuts and bolts approach to cinema. However I prefer it as one of his "works" over most everything post Kill Bill vol 1 and probably that too (maybe Jackie Brown too, hard to tell, it's been so long since I saw the original three I assume they've mythologised a little in my head - also they probably do have to occupy a different level because of when they came out and the influence they had) Quote
