Paid Members mim731 Posted July 5, 2024 Paid Members Posted July 5, 2024 Seeing the Tories out of government without having to vote Labour and compromise my morals, and getting a non-Tory MP in our area for the first time in decades is tremendous. Quote

Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 (edited) He couldn't look much more Tory if he tried! Just seen the Jess Phillips clip of her being rudely heckled. I don't like her politics, but I love her forthright and direct response to the idiots! https://youtu.be/SoEubeoBIZw?si=HDhcH2KigDCjhZWZ Edited July 5, 2024 by Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Quote

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 5, 2024 Paid Members Posted July 5, 2024 They did an interview with Count Binface on the radio as I was going to bed last night, and it was brilliant. It wasn't this interview, but he's decent value. Quote
deathrey Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 So as a slight aside to this, I know the Youtuber Niko Omiliana stood against Sunak, then I discovered this morning that he stood in 10 other constituencies too. Seems crazy that this is allowed, what would happen if he won more than one seat? Quote

Seems crazy that this is allowed, what would happen if he won more than one seat? It's not allowed. When you register as a candidate, you have to sign a declaration that you aren't standing in any other seat. Either he lied on that, or all the other ones were people falsely using his name. Either way, it's being investigated as a breach of electoral law. Assuming it was just him registering in multiple seats, had he won any of them the result would have been voided as an ineligible candidate and there'd be a fresh election in that seat. Quote
Paid Members JNLister Posted July 5, 2024 Paid Members Posted July 5, 2024 Nice stat: had every single Reform vote gone to the Conservatives, they would still have only won 287 seats. Quote

Ahh thank you so much for clearing that up. It did seem crazy to me that he could run in more than one place! Quote

He’d always been very popular locally He's so over around here, 40 years as Labour MP and I'm so pleased we followed the man not the party. Just need Islington to become independent from the rest of the country now. Quote
