I believe he was on the show because he was a legit lifeguard and had a sort of consultant role on the show, I always thought he looked fantastically out of place whenever I've seen old Baywatch stuff.
Harry Wiseau
One of the greatest ever strongmen to come from this country, the legendary Geoff Capes has gone to pull lorries in the sky.  I bloody love WSM and big Geoff was my first memory of that beautiful annual event. Paid Members Scratch Posted October 23 Paid Members Share Posted October 23 Geoff Capes was such a common part of my childhood, he always seemed to be on telly and everyone knew who he was. Will be well remembered for throwing a fox around the world.

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted October 23 Paid Members Share Posted October 23 I remember the Geoff Capes game on Commodore 64. I was awful at it.

Paid Members BomberPat Posted October 24 Paid Members Share Posted October 24 I got an email read out on the Three Bean Salad podcast because Mike Wozniak was getting bollocked for describing Geoff Capes as a "wrestler", and I wrote in to say that while it would be an unusual way of describing him given he was far more famous in other areas, he did technically have at least one wrestling match, and therefore you could accurately describe him as a "wrestler". Here is against RINGS and UWF alumnus Chris Dolman. For some reason, Geoff enters to bagpipe music. I've never been able to find out anything about the backstory for this fight. Bagpipes are very big in Holbeach Pat. The locals use them to communicate across the fens so that they don't have to get their webbed feet wet unnecessarily
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted Thursday at 01:21 PM Paid Members Share Posted Thursday at 01:21 PM Geoff Capes won the world highland games 6 times, including 5 in a row in the 80s. Probably a good indicator for the bagpipes.

Magnum Milano
Actor David Harris, 75, probably best remembered as Cochise in The Warriors. I think I've probably ended up watching that film more than any other. https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-news/david-harris-the-warriors-cochise-actor-dead-obit-1235144450/

SaitoRyo
Film director Paul Morrissey, known for his collaborations with Andy Warhol, also passed away yesterday. He was 86. An odd career that seemed to really fall off after he left The Factory. I think he was quite resentful of Warhol taking a lot of the credit for their films, with Morrissey claiming he was the one doing most (if not all) of the work. I've only seen bits and pieces of the arty stuff (when studying film at university), but I do have a distinct memory of watching a film on TV late one Friday night when I was around maybe 10 or 11 years old, which I am pretty sure was Flesh for Frankenstein.
