Also, that weirdo sub-set of Benoit fans are exactly the kind of people who would forgive Benoit and condemn Hogan based purely on their wrestling.

Either way, Hogan has a point about them, but it's a fairly low bar, and a number not worth addressing; whilst I'm pessimistic about wrestling fans in general like most of us on here are, I'd like to believe that that kind of doyle is in an even smaller sub-set. In line with most wrestling fans' values, Benoit remains a monster and Hogan is still a racist cunt.

Absolutely, no one has '' forgiven" Benoit that I know of, aside from edge lords who wanna ride the Fringe of public albeit right on this occasion, public opinion. I think some have tried a some what holistic approach to the man, reasoning, perhaps rather than excusing his misdeed with poor neurological health, CTE etc.. But the guy absolutely should not be in any reputable hall of fame. I mean I can still watch his matches, enjoy the character..(admittedly it's because him V angle is still technically one of my all time favourites) But I'm not buying a Tshirt and wearing it out anytime soon. 

 

Hogan on the other hand has made his bed and then insincerely apologied for repeatedly shitting in it.

True, but when I posted that last comment, I had read the Tweet and looked at the photo and my brain read it as MAGA, such is the strength of that 'brand'. Plausible Hulk made the same mistake.

I'm not that interested in defending Hogan, but these 'gotcha' Tweets irritate me.

Not knowing what, if any, conversation was had between them, it is far more likely that Hogan didn't understand the significance of the T-shirt and didn't read the words on the baseball cap, just as he likely didn't understand the Nazi connotations of the SS tattoos on the last bloke people kicked off about him having a photo with. Assuming there was no real conversation between the two, I'm always more likely to lean towards "Hulk Hogan is a fucking idiot" even when the alternative is "Hulk Hogan is a massive racist who hangs out with other racists".

I wonder how many wrestlers would have said no in a similar situation. And how many of those wrestlers would even be approached in the first place. Like, I don't doubt that Hogan is a racist prick but I don't doubt that a lot of wrestlers would have just taken the photo.

Also, I'm not sure I'm on board with this idea that wearing a MAGA cap is comparatively excusable to wearing a MAWA cap. They're both reprehensible actions.
