That's Alex Abrahantas. He was originally for a very short lived time Penta's heel manager and was pretty decent in the role but quickly became the Lucha Bros "hype man". Then he, for reasons unexplained, became the hype man for every masked babyface luchadore in AEW. Literally everyone hates him.

I liked MVP clotheslining him!

Aghast at the disdain for Mark Briscoe promos but could not agree more on The Iron Savages. Enjoyed the reviews this week @Devon Malcolm :)

Also re: Hobbs, they have been very stop/start with him, but on this particular occasion his very long absence was for good reason. He ruptured his patella tendon in April and had to have surgery/lots of rehab.

I suspected as much but I also wondered if it was a Ricky Starks situation. I haven't seen nearly enough of him tbh, so hopefully he stays healthy.

Honestly I enjoyed Mariah Vs. Anna more than I expected, but probably because their previous matches set the bar so low.

So no Mariah May match at the PPV. Assuming she either turns on Mina at the event or/and Storm returns.

I'm not to bothered with MxM looking stupid because they are just so good at it. They do need to pick up some wins though and to start a proper program.

It was a tough time for them to come in because the Outrunners got super over at the same time. I wouldn’t mind a Johnny x MxM trios run, I think it would be beneficial to all parties.

Also @Devon Malcolm Jake did a talent swap a few weeks back giving up Lance Archer to Callis in exchange for LFI (who were barely in that group anyway) hence him now being with them. I’m sure that explained it by saying Jake had long ties with the Mexican wrestling scene, but may of misremembered it. It’s not a great fit so far but I’m happy to see how it plays out.

Somebody explain to me why the barely reanimated corpse of Jake Roberts is accompanying a pair of Mexicans to the ring? What the fuck is going on here?!

The only reason for this is because TK has way too many people under contract and he would sooner put this shit on TV than do the right thing and release some of the rubbish. The only thing with more deadwood on it than the AEW roster is Ian McShane's CV.

Realistically the only way you can associate Jake with Mexicans is if they are the cartel that sells him his drugs. Apart from that anything he is involved in is just immediate fast forward material.

Jake pretty much does fuck all and is barely on TV - if you want to ignore him you should be able to pretty easily.  Though I agree that he's a bad fit for LFI. I don't think RUSH needs a manager and it actively hurts him to have one.

I assume TK has Jake on the payroll for a pretty simple reason - he liked him as a kid so wants to throw him a payday. I'd be amazed if there's anything more to it than that. Personally, Jake's voice is so gravelly now that when he talks I can never understand a word he's saying.

I must have done the world's longest blink and missed that then!

I just assumed he'd left, I hadn't seen or heard of him for about 2 years. Bizarre, but anyway.

After the life Jake's lead, I'm happy to see him healthy and still able to get a pay-day to help him to stay that way. I'm a nostalgic fool for stuff like that. I'd prefer to see his character used more appropriately, but there's a limit to his usefulness now. Doddering about in the background of their B-shows is fine.

I mean, he did have a pretty big rivalry with Konnan. Not quite sure how that leads into him managing Mexican wrestlers though.

Jake used to take those Mexico bookings because of how easy it was to service his various vices over there. Konnan has spoken multiple times about it being almost a full-time job minding Jake to ensure he didn't end up dead.

The whole Jake in AAA run is here for anyone interested, he might have been off his bonce 100% of his trip but it's probably his last truly great run too.

I'm actually really looking forward to the 4 say tag team match at full gear. It could be brilliant. And maybe we see max turn heel after.

Yeah, I genuinely hope Max Caster can become a first class shit head heel and Anthony Bowens becomes a big homegrown babyface star down the line. I've genuinely enjoyed The Acclaimed but eventually you do have to put a pin in it for a while. I think they're both really talented and can excel in a different role.

It's a funny one with Max Caster because either he's a massive twat in real life or he's just really good at living his gimmick. If it's the latter - great! Because he's very believable as a dickhead and he's pretty decent in the ring so they could hopefully get something out of him. Bowens looks great, is just innately likeable and has great babyface fire in the ring so likewise he's got potential too. These two subtly getting pissy with eachother has been really well done and feels very natural and believable. I'm digging it.

The match with LFI was good. I was pretty annoyed LFI lost because I would put it all behind them as the next tag champs if I had the book but I suppose they can hold off for a little while. Not too long though - Rush and Mortos need that gold. Build the division around them!

Seperate point - Harley Cameron is turning into something pretty decent in the ring as well as being one of the most bonkers fun characters they currently have. You can now add her to the list of women on the roster who are better than Britt Baker. Give her 5 minutes of TV each week and she's guaranteed to give you something worthwhile. She's not going to stand there with a boo boo face saying "no one cares"

Agree with everyone else the Acclaimed has run its course, but I have next to no hope for either of them as singles stars, especially in AEW, but I have slightly more hope for Caster than Bowens
