Best of 5 then?

I think I was the only person on Earth who enjoyed the Elite/Death Triangle best of 7.

Nope. The first couple were a bit of a chore, but remember the rest being bangers! And at least that had an ending unlike the Camelo/Andrade one

This was a tremendous show. They mostly are. Man, I just want some venues with some people in them.

Couldn't agree more.

AEW's match quality is so generally high that Fletcher/Briscoe has received no buzz at all. In any other promotion it'd probably be a match of the Year candidate. Excellent work. Fletcher in particular has become one of the most fun to watch guys in the business. He's getting real actual genuine heat in his matches through his heel work - it's fucking beautiful to see (especially when no one else in the US is doing it). The fans are hugely engaged when they watch him. He sells like a pathetic weasel, cheats whenever he can even if he doesn’t need to, is gloriously smug when he's winning and immediately cowardly when things don't go his way...he's a revelation. Fills his matches with all the little things that count and give depth and meaning to everything. Put him in there with natural babyfaces that instinctually know how to get a crowd involved and you've got magic. He's the future of the company and I can't wait to see him vs Daniel Garcia soon.

At least the crowd they had was actually making noise.

Loving the direction they are taking Toni Storm.

Biggest return wasn't Julia Hart but the return of the show opening promos. Love those.

What happened to The Acclaimed? No sign of them since Swerve battered Max.

Really enjoyable ten man tag.

Julia returning was actually cool but feuding with Hayter still isn't clicking with me.

Okada blowing kisses at the Continental belt. What a glorious prick he is.

Cracking main event and I'm glad they resisted the urge to have Fletcher go undefeated, in the tournament.

Once again my favourite two hours of weekly wrestling.

8/10.

They've had some dead crowds but they generally are pretty good. I'm never knocking the people who turn up and pay their money to see the shows either way. It's the company's place to get more of them in and excite them. Whether that's smaller venues, lower ticket prices or better local promotion - or likely a combination of all 3 - they really need to hit that as #1 priority in 2025. They're doing better on TV of selling where the shows are coming and what you're going to see but that's not enough. That's preaching to the converted.

I don't blame the company entirely. They've made some bad booking decisions, bad hires and had a majorly bad PR situation but that's not unusual in wrestling. They're up against a company who have re-established themselves as THE brand for pro-wrestling and who have turned the "no such thing as bad publicity" into a fucking mantra. Sometimes, you just have to give credit where it's due.

There's no point crying about it. No point in hot-shotting matches or angles. Their own business is excellent. Keep on course but absolutely address the issues on a local level. WWE ticket prices are astronomical - as is the entire entertainment industry. Go the other way. Sell it as the best, most affordable night out. Student prices, 2-for-1s, family tickets. Get people who are well known on local radio and TV. Surely that's the reason you're paying Paul Wight, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, Billy Gunn, Jake Roberts, etc.

Honestly, I found that first 20 mins infuriating. The match was great. Crowd was great. Wrestlers reactions to the crowd were absolutely awesome.

That Boom stuff in the intro was utter fucking trash. The commentators recapping the Ospreay/Darby match over the crowd going absolutely apeshit for Ospreay was atrocious and then Ospreay doing a job and Skiavone NOT being absolutely FURIOUS that he was clearly cheated is just amateur hour.

I know people will say these are little things to pick apart in a great match but these are all the reasons that big picture, this promotion is cold.

In all, a fantastic episode of Collision again. In ring action / tournament continues to deliver big time. The crowd and the venue really added something.

The two Big Boom segments were absolutely tragic. But you can’t have everything.

Bigger picture, Skiavone is a very poor lead commentator. I get why he's there, he's got an incredible voice and heritage but he can only be the third man on these shows. Someone else needs to sell the stories. It's actively harmful to the shows.

Look, I'm not saying I care about Adam Cole and MJF beyond wanting it to be over. But this is the closest they've gotten.

BOOM!

The piss poor stage decoration annoyed me. 3 presents and a mail bag? Fucking hell pop down the shops and buy 10 Christmas trees, candy canes, presents, go big and do it properly. Looked amateur hour shite.

BOOM!

Is Ricochet as a heel...actually working? I'm as shocked as anyone but I think it might be.

BOOM!

Benjamin/Garcia was an absolutely tremendous match and well worth seeking out. Garcia wrestles like a man of the people and crowds love him for it. Top notch action.

BOOM!

Another incredible Toni Storm segment. She can't even remember the woman she shares a tattoo with. Every time she says "Toni time!" gets a pop from me.

BOOM!

Swerve getting the AEW 2024 equivalent of the Austin pop every time he turns up. Rightfully so. They need him back on top sharpish. He's THE MAN.

BOOM!

Darby/Claudio was predictably fucking mental and great. Darby may be the first wrestler to end up getting a full skeleton transplant. I don't understand how his body isn't mush. There's been a bit too much cheating for wins in the C2 this year but I'll allow it here as it plays into a wider story and was sufficiently brutal and despicable.

BOOM!

I never want to see AJ, Big Justice, Chris Jericho, Bryan Kieth, MJF or Adam Cole ever again.

BOOM!

@LaGoosh you know I’m a big fan of your posts. But the first and last points were DOOM’s! and not BOOM’s! You have to understand that’s what they do.

And whilst I also find them annoying the hits they get on AEW for social media, and as we know the numbers don’t lie and they spell disaster for the AEW fans not into AJ and Big Justice.

Fucking great episode with the Ballroom looking incredible. I think the last time I saw a promotion run it was GCW and I thought it looked awful. It looked fantastic last night and only wish they could just house Collision there every week. It only missed our beloved Harlequin Cameron, and I hope she finds this as her new home. Harley Collision has a good ring to it.

Incredible that last year whilst I thought their double act was charming and got very over, I don't think I ever want to see MJF/Adam Cole ever interact together again. The reverse of Swerve/Hangman. Do not care. It's stupid, but I've never wanted a crowd to shit on a match more. A whole crowd just fucking silent for their payoff. Gimme the dream, sod them, they deserve nothing.

Jericho has a new grift to glob off, fucks sake. BIG BOOM AJ & PAUL WIGHT VS JEFF JARRETT & SATNAM SINGH... You have them all signed, Jarrett would somehow get that co-headlining All in Texas on sheer will.

Fucking Chris Jericho!

The in-ring segments/promos were mostly fucking appalling this week. Match quality was tremendous.

Ricochet getting the bog roll streamer treatment, was my personal highlight.

I get why AEW book the Boom Cunts, doesn't mean I have to like it.

If it wasn't for the Australian show, I'd be happy to see AEW drag this current Toni Storm, out all the way until the next Owen tournament.

Still no sign of Platinum Max, since the Swerve kicking.

Seeing Shelton Benjamin stiil going strong in 2024 triggers a deep depression in me. I've wasted my life.

7/10. Mostly for the match quality, venue and hot crowd.

The web exclusive backstage stuff is way better than the shit they put on TV. This is what they should be doing on their shows rather than their 3rd rate knock off WWE imitation. Makes it feel like the real adult alternative AEW should be.

I don’t watch Collision regularly, but this card looked pretty decent so I gave it a shot.

Osprey v Ricochet, for me at least, was much more palatable than their first AEW encounter, mainly because they actually managed to resist the urge to just do that sequence again. Ricochet blocked me a few years ago on Twitter because he’s a thin skinned pillock (I said his Nightwing outfit at Summerslam 2019 made him look like a gimp), but he could be onto something if he leans into the bog-roll throwing stuff, which no doubt be a thing going forward from other crowds.

Adam Cole and MJF can both fuck off. “WAHEY! Your misses left you!”, “Well your hairs shit!” - fucking pair of losers

The crowd for Statlander vs Ford was so quiet that if this was held a couple of weeks ago you’d have heard Luigi Mangione shoot that CEO.

Jericho can join Cole and MJF in fucking off, and I don’t get the BOOM! lads stuff because I’m not on TikTok.

Everything else was pretty solid, even if Darby Allin is determined to either paralyse himself or turn his brain into mashed spuds. Finish to him v Claudio was a little flat too, but I’ve seen far worse this year
