So. Who's going to be wrestling?

Everyone probably. Assume outside the big matches they'll have a Casino Battle Royale type thing with everyone else on.

Hopefully the match focus is on the AEW core guys and they don't bring in Will Ospreay or whatever.

Considering the size of the show, you assume they have to do the biggest and best matches they possibly can. Unload everything you’ve got in the tank. Sting retirement match. MJF vs. Hangman. Omega vs. Ibushi. Danielson vs. Okada. Shingo vs. Moxley. A live Stadium Stampede. FTR vs. Young Bucks 3. Danhausen vs. Orange Cassidy. Takeshita vs. Ospreay. Fenix vs. Vikingo. Samoa Joe vs. Darby Allin, Last Man Standing. Hayter vs. Baker. Cargill vs. Statlander. Tony Schiavone meet and greet. VIP Bender with Tony Khan.

I think someone mentioned a couple of ladder matches. One with Morgan, Neidhart and a few others. The other with Riddell and Omos.

I've thought about it and the only way I'll feel like I get value for money for my MITB ticket is if Dominik Mysterio wins the briefcase and I won't accept anything else now.

FTR v. KES as Dax & DBS jr steal spots from Summerslam 92.

For something of this magnitude, you’ve got to throw the kitchen bastard sink at it. Some of the suggestions from Supremo would work wonders. I’m not sure if Punk returning is the right call depending on how the mood might change if he does, but imagine they save his return for this. The pop would be ridiculous. You’d sell a ton of tickets off the back of that alone.

I don’t mind chucking a celebrity or two into the mix if - not to get all HHH circa 2013/14 - it’s best for business, i.e they’re part of the wider fabric of the show rather than doing something which doesn’t help another talent or benefit them in some way.

What I’m hoping for over the course of the next few months is an attempt to really rekindle the spirit of the original. You won’t be able to match it directly because the stakes and scales are obviously much higher. But if done correctly and not gratuitously, they’ve got a real chance to go full ‘us vs them’ on this.

Who knows, if Vince does wind up keeping a stranglehold on creative and WWE becomes unwatchable again, it might do their job for them.

Definitely FTR and Punk vs Goldberg with Bret Hart at ringside. Leg slaps banned. Georgia Smith as the guest ring announcer. Harry as the guest ref. Diana on commentary. Picture of Dynamite Kid in the Sky Box.

The Sky Box is closed. Someone lost the key card.

Some have come out saying that it doesn’t say it’s a PPV, so therefore it must only be a house show.
Are people fucking right in the head? As if they’re going to book Wembley fucking Stadium for their debut UK show and not bring the cameras

Plenty of people have said it might be not be a PPV. I've been one of them. I haven't seen a single person say it's a house show.

Warner Bros 100th anniversaray got a mention during the announcement. Which has people jumping on the rebranded HBOMAX and being shown there. Even without that they've had the history of streaming events for free on BR Live or could be tape delayed on one of the WBD channels stateside.

Domestically possibility of being live on ITV4 since it would have ITV invested in promoting the show more than just a live event they'd have nothing to do with.

For all the speculation of the success of this event and some of the bullshit tribalism exhibited on social media, the real point behind all of this is that we now have the biggest wrestling companies in the US both taking risks in putting on massive events in the UK.

A lot of people won't have suffered through the years where fucking TNA/Impact of all companies were the ones that saw the UK as a legit number 2 market. Where they'd do GENUINE tapings here and treat them just like they did in the US. We'd get exclusive events here. We'd get proper meet and greets before the show with actual main event talent.

Yes WWE always maintained a presence here but we know that on the whole the UK PPVs were glorified house shows. And once they stopped and we got RAW/Smackdown tapings they were mostly inconsequential with nothing major happening. You knew that titles weren't changing hands most of the time. It may have said they were TV tapings but they were glorified house shows too just with a taxi on the stage.

So now to be getting Clash and then MITB and the AEW London card.. bring it all fucking on. Let the big boys battle it out. Let them fight over us. 2023 is suddenly a bloody good time to be a wrestling fan again in the UK and I can't wait to see what they give us.

For those of us that have been fans for decades this really feels like a long time coming.

If we get Bill Roache reciting lines as Ken Barlow with RJ City's Diedre, it will be the greatest show in history.
