It's really just a nod to the history. Ultimately there's a reason it became a traditional timeslot. Wrestling being a dependable ratings winner that's cheap. It basically found itself sandwiched between a noon kickoff sport before a primetime offering. Obviously programming has changed a bit. TBS doesn't carry a ton of sport, but they still have more prestige programming for primetime. Starting next week they're going to have the NCAA basketball tournament for instance. No matter how it's presented on TV, people only have so much free time. When Raw and Smackdown were both on USA there was a clear advantage to Raw. Despite being the 3hr show that would be up against MNF during the NFL season. Not to mention Raw and NXT these days. The once planned Women's show would at least give it a distinction from everything else they do. But I don't seen them going through with that. They've got the reality thingy. They struggle to keep Dynamite consistently good. What the fuck would they ever need another show for? Rampage struggles ratings wise in comparison to other shows. Not neccessarily to what the network are okay with. Dark and Elevation are youtube shows. They would rather stick ROH on HonorClub with 12k subscribers, and the likes of NWA & MLW have constantly scrambled for whatever streamer will give them cash. Cut all the blood and violence and just have the fun, comedy stuff. Get Brodie Junior in as the GM. But yeah. Nothing else matters right now.
