So Eddie has "quit" AEW in an interview with Lexy and tweeted this Big Sexy tweet.

How long before he’s bitching about how he’s being booked in ROH

MJF vs Bryan is the worst. MJF's promo skills are regressing, Bryan's were never there, it's dull promos leading to a minimum of sixty minutes between them. Christ.

I agree with your comment about MJF, but I can’t agree with your assessment of Bryan. He’s a fantastic promo - if anything, I’d say they don’t utilise his excellent mic skills enough in AEW.

Although it’s hard to feel invested in this PPV based on story, the Iron Man match has put me off buying it. 60-minutes of wrestling for a cold feud, with a predictable outcome? Who would want to see that?

It’s hardly AEW and ROH, is it? Aren’t DDT owned by the same company as NOAH? It’s a rival promotion that they have an understanding with.

But that’s irrelevant, the point was in reply to someone saying they should’ve listed specific examples of his matches, I disagree. The commentary team didn’t need to name all the ladder matches he had in every promotion against every opponent to emphasise he has pedigree in ladder matches, them saying “He’s had loads elsewhere/in Japan” does the trick without naming other promotions or people who don’t work for AEW.

I don't think DDT and AEW are competing for the same market share.

I'm not expecting a 15 minute history lesson about DDT but you can say he was the former DDT Champ, a company that Kenny Omega made his name. It sublimely tells the audience that maybe Konosuke is a potential big star

And it’s never been mentioned before? Do you expect them to do this for each wrestler every match? These are crazy complaints, especially about a wrestler whose been with them for a good while now.

Fightful did an update on a couple of people.

Leyla Hirsch is still in recovery but has apparently resumed training.

Statlander's still out with an unknown timetable.

Miro is in the same spot where he's healthy, but nothing has been agreed.

Scorpio is another that's been healthy for a while now. Noted while he wasn't at the LA tapings, he was backstage at Impact's No Surrender.

Id be happy having Deeb come back into a programme with Jade Cargill and perhaps dethrone her.

Like I said before there seems to be a split in the women's division and there's 6-7 faffing around doing not much for the women's title whilst the rest seem to be fodder for Jade with no hint of anyone taking her crown. Deeb I think has the ability and position to win the TBS and it will be interesting to see Jade go after a title rather than just holding one and beating loads of minor leaguers

His complaining about AEW online was part of the storyline of him quitting AEW to go to ROH.

I understand the logic of moving Eddie to ROH, you need a top star who can create buzz to get eyes on a new show and I will pretty much watch ROH weekly if he's on there but FUCKING HELL I also hate it so much. Eddie is a top star and should be wrestling top stars on Dynamite and Rampage. An absolute waste.

There is zero need to mention specific companies when it comes to emphasising the experience of a performer in a certain type of match. If they bigged up DDT like you suggest, it would increase eyes on their product as most people haven’t heard of them. Some people would want to check it out if it’s talked about as some breeding ground of future stats.

It’s a golden rule of TV, don’t mention other similar shows.

Jeff Jarrett could actually be the game changing signing AEW have been looking for, for years. Never mind Punk, Danielson, Undisputed Era and the rest of the signings, Jarrett has come in, having a cracking time on TV and going to sort out their house show loops. Imagine sacking him in favour of fucking Road Dogg.

I saw a post about him promoting the upcoming Sacramento show, where he mentions he might not be there. He's also going to be a part of AEW All Access. Plus you have all this other talent that's switching between AEW & ROH anyway. Why do all this promotion and then drop him from the company?

Why does he need to do a storyline where he's quitting AEW? Why the weeks of negativity that just drags AEW through the mud? Since there's enough real world examples of unhappiness.

If he ends up with the ROH World title it'll be deserved as he's 40+ and AEW isn't going to be the place for him and championships it seems. It's just such a waste as there was a Foley-eque every man title win in him or a run with the TNT.

Khan must be delighted to only have to deal with eddies bullshit for a day a month going forward. Fuck me he gets more unlikeable every week with his moaning, 2 years back he was selling his boots to pay the bills, now he’s on 100k plus a year to work a day a week. My heart bleeds, maybe put in a bit of effort than moaning non stop and you get the trust top guys get.

I have watched a lot of crazy high spots but that first rope run into the dive from Komander was one of the damnedest things I’ve ever seen. I don’t think Gran Metallik is king of the ropes any more.  Rope run into shooting star was also bananas. Shame he didn’t get so much as a little hype package or even an entrance but it was a spectacular showing.

Oh I definitely feel that. I think on balance Hayabusa is still my all time favourite. Seeing him at Heatwave 98 was a game changer for my wrestling fandom. Not even one of his best outings, but I was completely captivated by the look,  the theme song, the way he carried himself and the sheer grace of the man. He is definitely the main reason I became a tape trading fiend and sought out any and all Japanese wrestling after that. I think Penta is one of the few masked guys around today who manages to pull of a similar combination of look/aura/character work/in ring excellence in a sea of generic flippy guys in masks.

Oh, Penta with Lucha Underground's presentation is the closest a masked wrestler had come for me but I don't like how he's been in AEW at all. It doesn't need to be some spooky bollocks but letting him be just a guy and the aura loses itself somewhere.
