Have just eaten my first Christmas pudding of the season. Yes, it's October.

Morrisons one left over from last year. 5/10, a study in blandness and a poor start to proceedings.

I collected some Christmas decorations and packs of Christmas cards from work today, the shops are full of mince pies. It's coming.

I'm trying all the Tesco Christmas crisps, so you can make an educated decision come December.

The Garlic Bread Flavour Wheels are absolutely vile, and taste like what I imagine feet taste like (not my kink Clive) 0/10

The Spice Bag Chicken & Chips are really good, but is it cultural appropriation for the Chinese or Irish (Father Ted is not a racist!) It's more of a general "Chinese" flavour but they are shaped like chips and drumsticks which pops a div like me. 8/10

Pigs In Blankets really nails the sausage flavour, so if you think that's a good thing and sounds nice, you'll like these. I don't think any combo mix will ever beat the M&S ones but these give it a really good go. 8/10

NOW WE'RE TALKING! Brilliantly taste just like pastrami and pickle...but that's a mind trick that then tells you "well that just tastes like a burger" and then before we know it lads, you're 8 again eating a bag of cheeseburger Quarterbacks!!! They're fantastic, buy them. 9/10

I must say I've been impressed with Tescos range and variety when I've been down the seasonal aisle, they seem to be really trying to do lots of different things this year which I admire. I got some camembert ones as well but haven't opened them yet. Had the curry wurst sub as well which was great, but absolutely stinks. I will try and get to another supermarket soon but I've been busy and a massive Tesco is 5 minutes away.

Next on the horizons, the Christmas Subway sub, which sounds banging. Haven't been in a Subway for years but needs must.

Tis the season!

The spiced hoops from Tesco are good. I had some of them a few days ago.

I've had 66 mince pies so far.

I've had one. Wasn't quite a pie, was the Greggs mince pie roll thing. Was slightly warm and very nice!

Had my first Greggs festive baguette of the season to get me in the mood.  It was very generously filled too, for which I thank Jesus and Santa.

Is there a trick to getting a hot item from Greggs. Their stuff is generally only luke warm. Which never fails to be disappointing. I waa stuck at BHX yesterday. Greggs waa the only real option. The luke warm Festive bake ended up in the bin.

Yeah, buy them just after they've come out of the oven.

I had one yesterday and it was nice, but at £2.50 they can forget about that again. Since when was Greggs so expensive? My first ever office job was data entry at the Greggs distribution centre in Twickenham and all the food was subsidised so bakes were 10p, doughnuts 5p!!! so maybe i just hark back to those times. Games gone.

Also, if you want it hot, they can chuck it in the oven for 30 seconds, seen this happen loads, just ask :)

A friend that works for HMRC has claimed. That the reason for a lot of their products being luke warm and not piping hot. Is due to an extra hot food tax that would be levied against them. It makes very little sense to me.

@SuperBacon thanks for the tip. Hopefully they don't just chuck it in the microwave.

That makes zero sense. All their baked foods are hot, it just depends on when customers buy them.

There are tax rules around eating in and eating out but nothing around the temperature of the food.

Yeah I think that's the crux, the food isn't heated when it's out for sale, it's allowed to cool to an ambient temperature so it avoids the tax. If they kept it hot, they'd be liable. Or something.

EDIT: Don't actually know if this is a thing. I'll stick to the thinking about What A Potato.
