You get the same proportion of lazy and/or useless people as there has ever been. You get them at all ages, even if the way that behaviour presents itself is different by generation. I think overall it's encouraging to see young people who know their worth, and expect to be treated as a human being and not get shit on by some power tripping middle manager. I've seen some really unprofessional behaviours when it comes to the treatment of more junior staff in some companies. The world of work these days is no longer underpinned by the social contract, or, if you're a bit more cynical, the strongly-held illusion that there ever was one. One of the biggest reasons, I think, is that it's no longer considered a given that a job offers any kind of security or peace of mind any more. I know quite a few people, not Gen Z admittedly, who have gone freelance because they're just thinking "Well, what's the point of working for a boss if I get no more stability or security than if I work for myself?" If those people feel that way, fuck knows how it must/will be for Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Gens Lehmann or whatever. That's before we even get to what's happening now. If the social contract was ripped up before, it's been put through the fucking shredder by AI. It's now well documented that it's the young graduates who are getting shafted by it, with all the entry-level jobs they would do to cut their teeth and train up being given by shitty bosses to the slop machine. All the old Tories complain about the younger generations having no loyalty nor respect - why the hell should they? They've been shown none. Quote

They've been written by AI and the "laws" these people quote are not even used in this country. Where previously it would be an A4 sheet and getting to the point of the complaint. AI churns out masses of pages of slop they have to navigate through, and it slows the whole process down. Quote

Eventually you'll have a completly closed loop of complain-o-bots in an infinate loop of turning minor incidents into absolute sagas without anyone ever knowing what's happening or caring.
