Raw is TV-14

Cheap ratings ploy to get disillusioned fans that have drifted to give them another look. There would be no discernible change in terms of violence, language or smut in a way that could deter any sponsors. Riddle may occasionally make a joke where you go “Oooo, that means he smokes weed LOLZ” but that’s about it, don’t expect Mandy Rose to get drafted and showing up as a dominatrix whipping Ezekiel to force him to admit to mistress that he’s Elias, or the 24/7 title to be rebranded the First Fucking Blood Championship any time soon. Nor will a Steve Austin suddenly emerge to ignite all our imaginations and magically make it brilliant again like when we were teenagers.

Changing the demographic doesn’t mean anything if you don’t fix the problems. That being a disinterest in telling proper stories, and dreadful production. A good wrestling show can be lucrative and enjoyed by the whole family, but it needs to be a good wrestling show, not whatever Raw is right now.

Raw was tv-14 in 2006 and that was awful, and nitro was PG in 97 if I remember right and was amazing.

If you have good characters and stories it doesn't mater, and saying fuck doesn't make a good promo as Shane Douglas proved week in week out in the 90s.

The 'Bring Back the Attitude Era!' weirdos will think they've won just like the Star Wars racists and sexists thought they'd won when JJ Abrams took back over, and then go mysteriously quiet when they get the Raw version of The Rise of Skywalker.

I can't fathom why they'd even consider it, unless standards and practices have tightened up somewhat and their hand is being forced with that time slot. Surely even if their core audience these days is ageing anyway, all this is going to do is close potential revenue streams and limit who they can sell advertising space to. The trade off to be able to do a few tawdry storylines and let Cody bleed all over the place seems very un WWE in the 21st century.

Unless they really have lost their marbles with everything that's going on and are consciously going for another contemporary initiative soft reboot of the Attitude Era which lasts for about four weeks until they get bored.

Hey, it's happened before.

I'd imagine they've at least considered riding the wave of Vince being a sec pest. What's that wrestling fans are always parroting, "the best gimmicks are based on real life?" Plus they'll spin it into some attempt at cancel culture because RAW is too edgy for snowflake liberals.

I'm still waiting for this PG wrestling show that people keep complaining about with silly characters and childish storylines. It sounds awesome.
