Paid Members WeeAl Posted March 3, 2022 Paid Members Posted March 3, 2022 (edited) Couldn't find a topic for this already. AEW World Championship Hangman Adam Page (c) Vs Adam Cole Dog Collar Match CM Punk Vs MJF Singles Match Jon Moxley Vs Bryan Danielson AEW World Championship Britt Baker (c) Vs Thunder Rosa Singles Match Chris Jericho Vs Eddie Kingston TBS Championship Jade Cargill (c) Vs Tay Conti AEW Tag Team Championship Three Way Tornado Tag Jurassic Express (c) Vs Fish & O'Reilly Vs The Young Bucks Ladder match for a TNT title shot Keith Lee Vs Powerhouse Hobbs Vs Ricky Starks Vs Orange Cassidy Vs Wardlow vs Christian Tornado Trios Match Sting, Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara Vs Andrade, Matt Hardy and Isiah Cassidy The Buy-In: Hook Vs QT Marshall Kris Statlander Vs Leyla Hirsch House of Black Vs PAC, Penta & Erick Redbeard  Based on how long they tend to go with matches, there are too many on this card. If they stick tightly to four hours though it'll help to curtail the match length. I just hope they don't make the show last longer to accommodate. Four hours is pretty much the max for pulling off a killer show. Even then, a lot of those could benefit from 1 less match and losing three minutes from the rest of them. The real main event here is MJF Vs CM Punk. It's heated up absolutely perfectly for this. The best thing I can day about Adam Cole as a challenger for Hangman is that since I don't want Hangman to lose the belt, I don't buy Cole whatsoever as potentially taking it off him, so I'm happy enough with that. Of all the potential options that could fit the bill for holding the belt and are available at the minute, I would at the very least, put Cole behind Hangman, MJF, Moxley, Punk and Danielson. No thanks, Shit Tan Adam. It's worked out well that this card has great support in the vein of Moxley Vs Danielson and Punk Vs MJF. Both of those are bound to be at least very good. I'll guess we'll get some feel good stuff with Thunder Rosa taking the belt and Eddie winning 'the big one'. Then there should be some madness in those multi person matches, even if I'm not hot on another ladder match, Fish & O'Reilly or the unnecessary six man tag (perfect TV main event. Kind of overkill on this card). Jade Cargill Vs Tay Conti looks to be the bad apple here. Keep it simple and not too long and hopefully it's better than some of Jade's recent outings. I usually avoid pre-shows like the plague, but I might have to make an exception for HOOK. I wish it was a Saturday PPV. Since it's not, it's going to be late to bed Monday night following this bad boy. Edited March 5, 2022 by WeeAl Quote
Infinity Land Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Makes me miss the Saturday PPVs Some of it's obviously filler like the last minute Jade v. Tay and Tornado Trios match with the Ladder match being the typical cram people on the card match. The one thing I was really disappointed by was the Young Bucks winning last night's Casino Royale. Jurassic Express take a backseat to the Elite/ReDragon drama. Quote
d-d-d-dAz Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 I don’t know why, but I’m increasingly of the opinion Cody Rhodes is going to turn up and attack Hangman post-match. Quote
poetofthedeed Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Punk/MJF is the only match on that card that needs to go more than 12 minutes. At least 2 of the matches should be sub 5 minutes if they've any sense. Quote

I've been thinking this too. Come back as a heel, ditching the no world title stip through some shenanigans (maybe he's technically employed by ROH or some such shite). I kinda hope not, the most interesting thing Cody has done in a while is leave, and I actually think it is way more interesting a possibility for him, AEW and WWE if he hops the divide.  Quote
Factotum Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Punk/MJF could be an absolute belter. The build up has been fantastic and I genuinely have no idea the outcome of it. They will tell a fantastic story in there I'm sure, and I expect MJF is gonna juice like hell. Bryan/Mox seems like such a fresh match up which is weird given their WWE runs. I like where this story is potentially going. Quote

They've got that big Moose/Heath Slater main event this Saturday, while we're talking about title matches nobody can get into. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Page/Cole is fine but they're going to have to work their arses off to deliver after some of the matches coming before it. Punk/MJF should be the show stealer and I hope they can give us a match that is of the same quality as what has happened between them up until now. It'll be tough but both guys are more than capable. Bryan/Mox will be great but I don't quite have the investment in it of something like Punk/MJF or even Jericho/Kingston, although the latter I expect will have peaked with the promos. Baker/Rosa could be a mess if they go out there with the dream of beating what they did with the Lights Out match. The build up hasn't been great at all and I'm just not sure where Britt goes if she wins. It feels like she needs to lose, go in a slightly different direction for a while and let Rosa carry the torch for a bit. Everything else will be fun - especially the Ladder Match and obviously Hook on the pre-show - and it's another incredibly solid card from top to bottom from AEW, proving again that they're very very smart in building/protecting so many stars all over the shot and not just the champs. Quote
Infinity Land Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Potential spoilers to Thunder v. Britt Spoiler On Thunder Rosa's last vlog she mentioned that the then upcoming GCW show would her last for a while, and last time wrestling men for a while. Which seems like the kind of restirctions AEW would put on a soon to be champion. Unfortunately, it's rumoured she picked up a knock in the tag match this week. Not sure it would change the ending, but does have me worried about the match quality. Â Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted March 4, 2022 Paid Members Posted March 4, 2022 I did wonder whether she was already carrying an injury when I saw how heavily taped her thigh was on Dynamite this week. Quote
69MeDon Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 There isn't a single match on this card that I am not into, other than I don't really care about Cargill/Conti. Shit, I never normally watch the buy-in, but HOOK! I booked Monday off work. Quote
Infinity Land Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 The Tornado trios match will be for many a match that could be easily scrapped. I certainly get that. I appreciate it, but I don't care because it's Sting. Just ONE year ago Sting was going to make his AEW debut in a cinematic match at Revolution 2021 because that was it. That was all he could do. Pretty sure that match was dissected like the Zapruder film with people looking for stunt doubles and crash mats. Haven't a clue what he'll do, but he's going to something to make it worthwhile. Paid Members Supremo Posted March 4, 2022 Paid Members Posted March 4, 2022 When can Jeff Hardy debut? Does he have a no-compete? The only reason I can imagine putting Matt Hardy on pay per view in 2022 is if it results in Jeff appearing. Quote
