I seem to remember at a signing event in a nightclub in Coventry before the first TWC Showdown, CM Punk claimed that Heidenreich was meant to be repackaged as a defrosted Nazi, having been preserved via Cryogenics.

That would have been all kinds of fun.

I love the story of that. Dan Madigan apparently made the pitch of him being a Nazi frozen in time who didn't understand why he was being hated by the fans.

To give the pitch life he apparently got up and goosestepped around the room while explaining it, to which Vince calmly got up, packed up his things and walked out on the meeting without saying a word.

A couple of months before Kronik debuted on TV, I read there was keen interest from the WWF to lure both back from WCW and repackage them as a new Demolition. Absolute bollocks. Can you imagine Vinces lads watching everything Crush was capable of in about 6 different characters in 2 runs and thinking “No, we didn’t get everything we could out of Adams.”

Oh, wait...

I want to say this was Dan Madigan.

He had some interesting stories, some of which made WWE seems an incredibly callous and horrid company (which years have proven to be more the true side of the tales).

He was also the bloke who had the idea of a defrosted nazi managed by a jewish manager. This was the infamous pitch where apparently Vince got up and left immediately after without uttering a word.

yeah, it was Dan Madigan who pitched Heidenreich as a Nazi, and wanted Paul Heyman to manage him. It was around the same time that they were going to debut Kenzo Suzuki as Hirohito, which I think even made it as far as getting a pre-debut vignette on RAW before it was dropped.

Good job they didn't go with that as we'd never have had the odd couple tag team of Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree with their incredible music.
