Thatcher’s Still Dead

The coffee cups are a lovely touch. Speaking of which...

Thank god you've started this thread as I've wanted to ask for ages but didn't feel it warranted it's own thing.

You know when people talk about Americans adding "cream" to their coffee, what are we talking about? Single cream? Double cream?

You would think Google would have the answer but no. All I can find is that half and half stuff but I still cant work out what that actually is.

Single cream in coffee sounds fucking wicked to be honest.

I think it’s creamer, which is a horrible dehydrated cream-like stuff, it’s supposed to add a bit of “texture” to your coffee. Americans are gross.

So when they say "milk or cream" that's what they mean? Do we have an equivalent? That's almost disappointing to find out. I might start putting single cream in anyway. Fuck it. LiveLaughLatte

We lost the old general megathread for bits and bobs earlier this year (RIP), so here’s a new one.

Today, my friend shared a photo of the final boss in Poppy world.

I wonder what’s in the basket. A wreath of poppies? Maybe a metal one so the Muslims won’t be able to burn it like they apparently do every year. Or a miniature robot of Captain Tom that shoots poppies at you if you’re not wearing one.

Coffee-Mate over here would be the same thing as "cream", I'm assuming.

How does it compare to Evaporated milk? That's not too bad in coffee.

The most disappointed I've ever been with a coffee was a cafe bombon, condensed milk in the bottom with espresso on top. Like an upside down Irish coffee without the spirit.

When they say cream, they mean half-and-half which is basically half blue top milk, half single cream, mixed together.

@wordsfromlee is correct.

Bringing it back to Thatcher...anyone been watching The Crown on Netflix? Gillian Anderson is far too sexy to be playing Thatcher.

It’s a tough call because the whole show is a bit wrong. Getting a stirring from Princess Margaret was something I didn’t want or expect.

I like Gillian Anderson, but she's coming across as a caricature of Thatcher. Actually thinking about it, it's what ol' maggot food deserves.
