Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted April 7 Paid Members Posted April 7 Yeah, good old CM Punk. Sticking it to the man. The Voice of the Voiceless strikes again! Lower those prices, Ari! Not the Saudi ones, though. Quote

But Punk never misses an opportunity to tell everyone he doesn't ever use a script so how's this any different? Unless reports are that he went into business for himself which I'm sure he wouldn't have done because he told everyone how unprofessional it was when Hangman Page did it and hurt his feelings. I jest. It's all clearly absolute bollocks. I'm sure they'll be lots of definitely real not at all pre planned shocked faces backstage when they go into this on the next season of Unreal. Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted April 7 Posted April 7 "According to a report by PWinsider, Punk’s original promo was never executed. The report claimed that much of what came out of The Second City Saint’s mouth mirrored the backstage frustration of talents. Stars have apparently expressed anger at the high ticket prices, as well as the limit of two complimentary tickets for all the performers, despite there being a significant number of empty seats at shows. Any additional seats would have to be purchased by the talents themselves. The report also stated that there are no hints of any fallout backstage, despite Punk’s promo being essentially unscripted. One would expect some pushback from authorities due to how even TKO was called out, but no such incident has seemingly happened yet." It's absolutely worked shoot bollocks isn't it? Quote
BarryOVega Posted April 7 Posted April 7 But it’s seemingly got everyone talking and in the worst possible way let everyone know there’s shitloads of tickets still available, job done I suppose Quote
Chico Torres Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Who’s buying this shite in 2026? The “he’s shooting” nonsense was an amusing novelty in 1994 when Shane Douglas was doing it, yet somehow he is the most influential wrestler in 2026 for WWE middle-aged main eventers despite somehow looking like both Hale and Pace these days. Cut the fucking music indeed. Quote

Cut the fucking music indeed. The source of this is notable, I think. Mike Johnson of PWInsider - also the man who interviewed Punk at Starrcast way back when. If I was a betting man, I’d guess that Johnson has a personal connection with Punk and this is an example of the wrestler telling him direct that it was ‘off script’, which Johnson has subsequently run with. He might have been given free reign to say whatever he wanted, but I’d be flabbergasted if this was anything but approved. Quote
The Gaffer Posted April 8 Posted April 8 It's a price gouging MAGA company primed to soft-land their rapist architect back into view turning their ouchies into an on screen angle where ticket prices, MAGA and the rapist have all been weaponised into an attempt at goodwill whilst still doing all of those things. It's a bit Rome burns trying to find where it's landed on the Shoot Vs. Worked Shoot spectrum. Fuck them, they're the absolute worst. Quote

I think at this point it seems to me that its better to just get Mania done and over with and press the big ol reset button or something ...for a NEW ERA?? Seriously, though, a) I hope you're feeling better and b) don't jeopardise that by watching Raw. If you take Punk out for a minute, as he kicks up too many personal feelings for people, and just think where this band of arseholes have got to this Mania; Both main events are now defined by a story which is essentially an argument about whether ticket sales are poor because the company are greedy dickheads who gouge fans, or because their main event stars aren't worth the entry fee. Great laugh, lads. You're all either shit or cunts. Might just split the difference, call you shitcunts and go back and watch that video of Sid someone posted earlier. Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted April 8 Posted April 8 (edited) Rebooting after WrestleMania would be abysmal. You're just admitting you're shit and the last four months of build meant nothing. Didn't help WCW. Edited April 8 by TheScarlettChad Quote

You're just admitting you're shit and the last four months of build meant nothing. Didn't help WCW. The thing is, up until the last few weeks, they were in a pretty good position and the television had been pretty good. I’m not a fan of Rhodes/Orton, but there’s no denying the beat down angle was effective. Punk/Roman had, for the most part, been very compelling television, and Danhausen has been a minor revelation on the lighter side of things. Lesnar is a deviant, but the feud with Oba Femi has been well booked. On the women’s side, Jade/Rhea had some daft ‘shoot’ stuff tied into it, but it’s a match I’m intrigued by, and the stuff with Judgment Day has also been enjoyable, thanks largely to Dom and Liv being an absolute blast to watch. I hate Rollins, but he’s popular and I’m pretty certain that their general audience is champing at the bit for him to get his revenge on team Heyman. There was really no reason for them to have someone come out on TV and say ‘everything is shit right now, isn’t it?’ because the answer to that for most of their viewers would almost certainly be ‘no’. They pressed the self-destruct button when there was no need to do so. Bizarre stuff. Quote
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted April 8 Paid Members Posted April 8 1. CM Punk is a landlord owning various properties. Not a Punk. 2. If you think a company like WWE who control their narrative at all times, including but not exclusively things like Unreal which are clearly fabricated, are letting anyone on a live broadcast with a microphone go off script, I have a bridge to sell you. While I agree with you completely, let's not get into the incredibly tedious discussion of what is "punk". At this point it's a genuinely meaningless term. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted April 8 Paid Members Posted April 8 He's definitely not punk. He doesn't even have a mohican! Quote
