I’ve wanted to buy Wukong for ages and now it has a physical edition I think I’ve decided too, but before I do is it actually Souls like? I’m terrible at those games.

That’s a hard question to answer because the answer could be yes, or no…the combat is closer to God of War or maybe Sekiro, but it’s a hard game; very challenging at times. Based on what you’re saying, I’d hesitate to recommend it to you.

In the last Steam sale, I picked up a few games which I've tried to convince myself I'll get round to playing one day (and ones I look forward to playing based off of recommendations in here).

I find one of the obstacles to playing is sitting at a desk to play on PC. I was always a console gamer, and I use a pad on PC unless it's something like Two Point. I have a PC that I was hoping I could stream to the living room somehow to play. I imagine that could be laggy as it is, but I also don't have an ethernet port in the room where the PC is.

I guess what I'm saying is, someone justify me getting a Steam Deck...or if there's a way of streaming to play from the PC that'd be handy.

You can get a docking station for the Steam Deck allowing you to play on a TV, and they’re quite cheap - here’s the one I got.

There are a number of controllers that you can use with the Deck while it’s docked, and there’s a high chance you already have one that would work.

The Deck - for me - is economical in that the Steam sales allow you to pick up a load of games for very low prices. Then you have initiatives like Humble Choice, again keeping the cost of your gaming down - while simultaneously placing new games you’d never have tried on your lap.

For new triple A games, it’s only worth it if you’re looking to play them portably. Many work, and some even work well - but the console version is typically better.

But consoles don’t, for the most part, grant you access to mods, or home brew/fan games (such as the super Somic Triple Trouble 16-bit, or many classic games, or emulation (including translations of games like Mother 3)

I can’t wait for the Switch 2 - but it could never replace my Steam Deck, as the Deck offers something very different. If you buy one, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is one of the best games I've ever played. They just nailed everything perfectly. From the start it is just fantastic.

It looks and sounds incredible too and absolutely nails the feeling of the (good) Indiana Jones films.

The only thing to moan at really is Microsoft probably needed something this good years ago. They have really fucked up a lot this generation. This game should have been a system seller it is that good.

Indy is close to perfect, when there's no enemies around. The story's great, the tone's spot-on, the locations so far (just left Giza) are everything I want out of an adventure game and Troy Baker's Harrison Ford impression is freakishly good. Sadly, whenever enemies aren't around is the only time I'm not having to deal with hassle. Want your health to be acceptable temporarily? Constantly eat these, want your stamina the same? Constantly eat that. The stealth is mince, but you're pretty much forced into using it by virtue of the ordinary combat being even worse (the sound effects are great though). Want to reload or heal up during combat? Good luck with that, It takes forever. No good big action set-pieces yet, either. Also, I think I've been disguised as a priest, a fascist and a digger more than I've been Indy yet, that's just weird.

I'll probably end up bumping down the difficulty to ease up on the frustration and persevere for the sake of the story, but gameplay wise what a waste of an otherwise great use of an IP. Nothing screams "2024 video game" quite like having to travel from Egypt to the Vatican over and over again to upgrade your health. How has this exhausting bloat become the norm?

Ah man that's so disappointing to hear after all the decent press it has been getting. But I trust your opinion on games more than randoms. So I'd rather find out like this than face disappointment when playing it!

Is Indiana Jonea a game could play with a kid in the room or is there any grusome/scary bits? I wouldn't watch the film with her yet so guessing probably shouldn't play the game.

If you don't want them to see the films yet then probably not. There is for example a pretty gruesome booby trap in the opening sequence. It is a Pegi 16 certificate.

Started playing You Suck at Parking and yes game, I do indeed. But I also enjoy this very much indeed and it's a cool little idea that I was amused by when I was doing it badly, as opposed to swearing at it.

I gave up on Turok after wandering around level 3 for dozens of man hours and not having the slightest clue I was supposed to do next. So I started Turok 2 and having wandered around level 1 for dozens of man hours, I also gave up with two children unrescued. Sorry kids, but I'm bored. RIP and all that. Very strange, sparse games - there's something here but it's lost in the sheer size and obscurity of its puzzles.
