Wrestlers covered in that black gaffer tape stuff for injuries. Cesaro, Orange Cassidy, etc. Just put a shirt on.

I have no problem with KT tape use in wrestling, be it legit or as a modern version of how wrapping some bandages around your lower stomach somehow indicates you have injured ribs.

I do get annoyed with the shoddy application in AEW though - applied properly that stuff sticks like shit to a blanket for days, there's no reason it should be half peeled off by the end of your entrance, even if it's only been put on for storyline purposes.

To this day, I still have anxiety and anger about the way Macho Man was disposed from the 1993 Royal Rumble by Yokozuna.

As a 10 year old who didn't realise wrestling was a work, I was shocked that 1. Macho tried to pin Yokozuna after his elbow drop in a match where falls aren't counted 2. Why the fuck did Macho not try and grab the ropes and avoid going over? 3. Wow, that Yokozuna guy is SO strong, but it looks like Randy kinda jumped over the ropes himself!?

And even now as an adult who knows wrestling is a work, it still takes up space in my conscience.

This is the worst bit. They booked Macho Man, a veteran of three previous Rumbles and a babyface to look a moron.

I’m not annoyed that Macho was the last guy in there with Yokozuna per se, he was one of the better people to have in there as they could’ve had at that point in time, but his signature move was of no benefit to him in a Rumble match. Going for a pin as mentioned does make him look stupid, but even if he didn’t do that, the Top Rope Elbow is a move to put someone down, he’s fucked himself by even hitting the move as he’s put himself into a situation where he has to get 500lbs of deadweight over the top rope. Macho screwed Macho.

I love things where the booker and the wrestler come up with something to keep the loser looking strong and the thing they come up with makes them look worse.

"We need an excuse for why Savage is getting eliminated?"

"Maybe he's an idiot?"

"Aye, that'll work!"

Savage should’ve won that Rumble and challenged Bret for the title at WrestleMania. Have Yoko vs Hogan as co-headliner or something, I don’t know. To be honest, I don’t care how it would’ve affected everything else. It pisses me off looking back at how they wasted Macho in 93/94, especially when he proved later in WCW that he still had quite a bit left in the tank. He was ‘too old’ my arse, when they had fucking Piper vs Lawler headlining KOTR 94?

I'm going to go to bat for Macho Man and say that the Yoko and Jake bits in their rumbles made perfect sense. This is Macho Man, ffs, a guy who always had a loony streak. He was the Macho Madness. With Jake, of course he'd accidentally eliminate himself - he didn't give a shit about the match, he just wanted his hands on Jake. With Yoko, everything is exhausting, so of course he's going to go with the big guns, and the bright lights, adrenaline and muscle memory send him up top for the pin. I love it when spots get the gimmick over rather than the match. Him making bad choices didn't dent his aura and standing a bit.

It's a tricky one, because I agree that he was always meant to be a loony, but at the same time, they were skirting a fine line between implying that it was easy to throw him off balance, and that he was just stupid.

Of course, he clearly wasn't stupid because he fucked up Flair by getting Mr. Perfect out of retirement to be his tag partner, in one of the best-executed last-minute angles ever.

This is petty, irrational and dumb, but the microphones they use on Netflix Raw having a circular wrap of the Raw logo rather than 4 flat sides irritates me for some reason....

Keep seeing Summerslam adverts. Winds me up that the PPV during the summer, named after the summer, has branding and a logo that looks the opposite and hot and summery and more cold. Really annoying me more than it should
