Here's a twist....

Hangman wins at Winter is Coming, but then batters Danielson after the match. DO come down and try to stop it telling Page that's enough. Page then turns on the DO and goes through them but they get the upper hand and start a beatdown....only for him to be saved by the Bucks and Cole and Page is then 'crowned' the new leader of the Elite/SuperKliq and opens up loads of feuds with the faces. Especiallyafter the nod from Jackson to Page during the title match. I still think that will become important down the line. Roll on 4 months and the DO are starting to lose regularly to the Elite and they need some fresh blood and momentum. Enter Kenny Omega. Theres a perfect set up for the title rematch as well as perhaps Stadium Stampede 3.

Or something like that....

I don't think we are yet at a stage where we should be judging Hangman's reign as good or bad? It's been, what, three weeks? First week was the celebration in Virginia, which I thought was awesome. Last week, Danielson ran from the buckshot lariat. This week, granted, Hangman was not great on commentary and the whole thing was a bit odd. But I think it's way too soon to be thinking Hangman's reign sucks or anything..

I don't the plans changed that much from Mox. Maybe the one difference is you would also have Eddie there trying to curb some of Mox's more violent tendencies up to a proper heel turn for Mox or both.

After the celebration in Virginia it was straight into Thanksgiving. I can see why they had the bit of a holding pattern with the Dark Order members to pad things out. It's just gone on too long.

My worry is who's next for Battle of the Belts. Since the Top 5 in the rankings heel wise after Danielson & Omega happens to be Scorpio Sky and Miro. Scorpio Sky having done next to nothing singles wise. It feels like a set up for a mini-MoTY v. Page/Dark Order programme before setting up a Revolution opponnent.

Black or Andrade would have been great opponents for BOTB, but they are about as credible as Joey Janela now.

While it's true that working with Cody has stunted their momentum, particularly in the case of Black; who could have emerged from the initial feud in a fantastic place had it ended sooner, this isn't true at all. While I'm not sure a loss to Hangman would help Black in any way, I think the initial segment where Black challenges Page would get a huge reaction. Andrade would be perfectly fine as an opponent too, and he might actually benefit from moving into the title picture, and away from the void that is the Codyverse, even if it means a pinfall loss to Page.

There are plenty of potentially interesting opponents for Page at BOTB - you could have a Page/Danielson rematch, Wardlow, Andrade, Christian (which could logically transition into a Christian/Jungle Boy feud for Revolution), Chris Jericho, Nick or Matt Jackson, Darby and Ricky Starks, for example. Heck, I wouldn't be opposed to a member of Dark Order challenging Page at the show, that could be fun. The match doesn't necessarily have to main event - perhaps we'll see Baker/Rosa II, a big tag match or even Punk/MJF close the show.

I mean if this Cody nonsense ends with Black and Andrade beating Cody into a pulp and putting him in a packing case back to OVW they'll be the top stars in the company. Well, to me at least.

Also imo Hangman trying to bait Danielson into a match when he's already had a match and this week into hitting him and risking the match being prosponed/called off is pretty interesting stuff.

Seems likes he's deliberately being portrayed as still lacking confidence and imo insecure about being a weak champion.

Omega was only the first hurdle.

I've seen it more as Hangman offering the fight Danielson claims he wants every time he sees him, and Danielson always having a reason why not - while always claiming it's actually Hangman running scared.  Danielson's refused every time, while calling Hangman a coward - it's really fun.

I'm not seeing this as Hangman not being a fighting champion, btw. Omega defended the title seven times in total over a year. It's not an 'every week' title - that's what the TNT title is for. This is more an NJPW-style thing where every defence should be a big deal.

arn getting attacked on the stage, falling off the stage only to be helped up by the same one attacking him was fucking hilarious.
