Paid Members stumobir Posted January 12, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2021 (edited) I’m sure we’ll all have seen it by now but this is what a parent was given to feed their child lunch for 10 days, in place of a £30 voucher. In my opinion, the outsourcing and procurement throughout this pandemic has been one of the biggest scandals but has gained barely any traction in our media. It’s actually making a bigger splash on the continent and even in America for fuck sake.  Profiting off the poorest in society when they’re already the most adversely affected by all this, is there a low that this country won’t sink to? Edited January 12, 2021 by stumobir

It's an absolute disgrace and I hope something is done, swiftly. But then again, the Tories are cunts. I honestly cannot understand anyone who can justify the Tories right now and the only ones I have seem to suggest "Well, at least it's not Jeremy Corbyn" He lost, get over it. Now, justify this shit show of wankers in power without using Corbyn as justification.
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted January 12, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2021 It's fucking disgusting. The consequences of gifting the Tories an 80 seat majority are hitting home and there's nothing that can be done for (realistically) 9yrs. They've got carte blanche to ransack the nation & they absolutely will. Fuck this country.

Some of them are staggering. Again, fair warning: don't read if you don't fancy getting angry right now.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 12, 2021 Author Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2021 The leader of the opposition, Marcus Rashford, will sort it out.
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted January 12, 2021 Awards Moderator Share Posted January 12, 2021 Yes let's let a 23 year old footballer sort it out. He can go meet with corporations. Not a politician's job at all. Why is this OK?!

The only way that policy can change is when the government are forced to through public pressure/fear of bad PR. Turns out having an election with an opposition leader that the country despised wasn't a good idea. Tell me seriously that 99% of the resentment of Corbyn wasn't whipped up through a shitstorm of media influence and hate campaigns inside his own party and on social media? While you're at it please explain what this shitshow of a government did better than he advertised he'd do. Of course Corbyn got trashed by the media. The UK papers are vastly right wing. Did their treatment of Corbyn come as a surprise to you? Were you expecting Murdoch & The Barclays to suddenly embrace socialism? The Tories didn't have to do anything other than 'not be Corbyn', that's the heartbreaking part. We all knew we were going to get spanked in 2019 but large swathes of the membership were still celebrating losing by 50 seats in 2017. The Tories were absolutely aware of this & as such kept Johnson off TV as much as possible (Johnson has never been liked...his approval rating was consistenly bad throughout) as they knew not being Labour was enough. Now, we're in a position where the Government can push anything they want through Parliament & the people shouting loudest about the 'lack of opposition' are the same that helped deliver the biggest opposition defeat in a century, and after said defeat wanted more of the same?!?! This is the consequence. Shit isn't it?
