My plan was to negate the effects of the spice by eating a big bowl of cereal with milk before bed, the theory being that since milk helps quell the heat of a curry when drank, it would extinguish the nuclear meltdown taking place in my guts. This did not work. And I spent the hours between 4-5 AM shitting the arse out of my arse. And in a great victory for the law of unintended consequences, the cereal meant I actually had more to shit than I would have otherwise, prolonging my agony. You should have had a prune juice before bed. It wouldn't have helped, but I'd have liked to have heard about what happened. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted March 24 Members Posted March 24 Following my food poisoning 3 weeks ago, I'm still shitting up to 10 times a day and very diarrhea like still. Doctor reckons I might have developed post infection IBS so that's fun isn't it? Quote

I go on it when my suspected IBS flares up (it’s on the NHS not a fad thing) but it really sorts it out more than chugging handfuls of Buscopan or Peppermint tea does. Quote

I've got to go back tomorrow but this is what I think they're gonna ask me to do initially. It's been rubbish last couple of weeks. I've had to cut out coffee and I've switched to tea, no fizzy drinks and since I got sick I've gone right off meat as well and haven't touched it for weeks. I've been on a very bland diet since, with minimal crisps. All I want is to think "fuck it" and go and try the new KFC menu. Quote

My diet for the last 3 weeks has been mostly grilled chicken or fish, potatoes, rice, blueberries, strawberries and porridge with lactose free milk. It’s plain and boring but let me tell you I’ve felt better than I have for years and it’s cleared up a ton of obesity related aches and pains. Quote

I'll be honest, I only regularly eat chicken out of all the meats and eat a lot of vegetable based meals anyway, so that doesn't bother me giving it up so much. It's just that I can't stand the thought of meat at the moment, I've been scarred by that battered sausage! And I only drink oat milk so can cut all that out as well. I'll be gutted if I have go give up cheese though, probably the only reason I could never go full vegan. Thanks for the advice and glad you're feeling better brother. Quote

I was on a Teams meeting this afternoon where much of what was being discussed didn't apply to me, so I angled my laptop so that it was below the webcam, and went back through that thread. I'd forgotten that the juice sluicing and bum fingering was the same thread. What a time to be alive that was. Quote

That’s still fine but in limited quantities. I got some lactose free milk which tastes exactly like normal milk so that works nice for my oats. Some cheeses are fine in moderation too, hard/mature cheeses like cheddar and parmesan. Vegetables and fruit you have to be careful with as a few of them are no good for it, and raw veg is hard to digest so knock that on the head too. Cook the lot of it. Having no coffee has been a bummer but an excuse to knock the Pepsi Max on the head was welcome and I must have lost 2 inches off my waist just by unbloating switching to water. Gluten free wraps tasted a little different but did a job, but I rarely eat bread anyway so that’s fine. Avoiding garlic, onion and their respective powders has been the hardest thing. Honestly though mate, a few days of it and you feel the benefits. I went from stabbing cramps and slimy shits to feeling healthy in about 3-4 days. Do the diet for 2-6 weeks, then gradually reintroduce stuff to see what sets you off. Judging by the fact I shit like a fire hose whenever I have yogurt I have a feeling I already know one trigger for me. Quote
