Is anyone able to give me a quick(or in depth) rundown on the infamous "UKFF Stable Wars" please?

Basically it was a war between two factions. The paidos led by Mafia Mike Castle, The pCc led by, god, probably D-mal. Carbomb and Boatfucker tried thwir own stable called Our Great Sport. Given short shrift.

Both stables had nothing but shit for each other. Infiltration on both sides. Green from the pCc who we didn't even like ourselves. It was proper nasty hatred on here, and the chat room go going again at the time and I think we all met in there probably for a fight. But thw humour was great in there and one one fatwful day Dizzy (Tiger Rick) banned the PCC at midnight. Then our greatest acquisition. Literally at the stroke of midnight. Neil hid the forum and replaced it with pCc on the webpage.

Stable Wars was responsible for several leavers though. JLM was one. Joe The Lion too (amd no one cares) and Stu Allen's (RIP) "congratulations on the continued death of the UKFF" resulting in a sweet freestyle from PITCOS in a sting mask.

And then we all bwcame great friends. All down to Stable Wars. Before Stable Wars loads of us despised another. I personally was one of the nastier parties. Complete prick in fact and still feel guilty about the way I treatwd some people.

Next thing I'm a mod.

Pretty much all this although I wasn't leader, it was more Houchen.

I think the seeds were sown when we did a campaign to have @gmoney reinstated when he was banned for something and then it all went along from there. But yeah, like you say, I think everyone emerged on the other side getting along with each other a lot better. @neil handling the end of it the way he did and revealing himself to be the Higher Power helped a huge amount, that night was the best chatroom night of them all. UKFF was kayfabe and the chatroom was real life though, we almost all got along in chat.

kendal didn't like me at all and whenever I tried to engage him in a chat he'd always lead off with an insult. He did drum up some good posts on occasion but that was largely offset by him being miserable.

"We haven't stirred anything up in a long time..."

I think feuding cliques of wrestling fans is the most natural thing in the world for fans of wrestling, particularly when you're young as we all were in those days.  I suspect the average age on this forum has moved up into the late 30s or 40s now.

The pCc takeover that @neil did was just hilarious, the perfect end to a wrestling angle.  And Butch went on to become a mod, cementing the pCc/Paido merger.  As D-Mal says, it was all kayfabe on the forum, but in Chat everyone was pretty cool with each other.

Whoever got renamed "Shit Poster" during that whole exchange definitely got the worst of it

Shit Poster was Green, wasn't it? The Vincent of the pCc.

Before the stable wars, everyone went through a phase of having a 'civil war' signature and indicating who they were siding with. What did that originate from? Was it an FWA thing?

No, he came after the pCc, I think. Can't remember what his name was originally but he was aptly named thereafter.

I thought it was a comic book thing.

 Didn't that originally start over at CZW Fans or DOI? People had "CIVIL WAR: I'm with *insert random shite here*". For the longest time I was siding with the Sega Saturn for whatever reason;

This post from the thread Houchen posted on the first page tickled me the most. On the eve of the banning:

'Did I, DID I... Wooooooooo... Did I happen to hear tiger_rick say he was going to hold P... C... C in the palms of his hands? IS THAT WHAT HE SAID? Does that mean, that you are gonna hold... ButchReedMark, Ian_hitmanhart, Loki... Does that mean, you're going to hold us all... In the palm of your hands? ... To coin a phrase... I don't think so!

The boys that have gone out there, night in and night out, doing everything they could to be the very best at what they chose to do with their life, those boys are here tonight! WE ARE! We're not going anywhere, you can't hold us in your hands! And predict our life, we're PCC, we've bled and we've sweat; when was the last time, you posted for an entire day like Ian, got the last word in five times, bled for forty-five minutes, WHEN... WERE... YOU... THERE?!?

You weren't! You weren't! You were never in the dressing-room, on the forum, forty days and forty nights, bleeding, sweating, going to the next thread. You can't hold.. People's lives in your hand. We're the greatest wrestling forum organisation of all time, I want to say it again, you can't control us or our future.'
