Paid Members BigJag Posted August 19, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted August 19, 2018 (edited) Wrapped in paper has to be the only way for a chip shop takeaway. Polystyrene boxes are a definite no no. They cause an unecessary sogginess. Some places even have a pizza box style packaging. How do they compare to the proper way? Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted August 19, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted August 19, 2018 Here's almost all of Wright's from Manchester's city centre. Possibly the best chippy in Manchester right now but always packed now!

Paid Members Carbomb Posted August 19, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted August 19, 2018 What's a cheese & onion fryit?
Moderators PowerButchi Posted August 19, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 19, 2018 A fishcake but with cheese and onion with the potato instead of fish. The vegatarian option, fried in the same fat as the sausages and burgers.
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted August 19, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted August 19, 2018 The vegetarian option is always fried in the same oil as the sausages and burgers. One of the chippies near us has only just stopped frying everything in lard. They considered that vegetarian.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted August 19, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted August 19, 2018 That chipcone is amazing.
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted August 19, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted August 19, 2018 Wright’s isn’t as expensive as I thought it would be bearing in mind it’s location. The chipcone has to go national.  Do they butter the inside?  Please let that be yes.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted August 19, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 19, 2018 Yeah.
Paid Members Carbomb Posted August 19, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted August 19, 2018 That fruit sounds great. Not vegetarian, so not really bothered about the oil-change - cheese and onion's a classic combo. Sort of a fried colcannon or champ cake, I guess.
