Don't blame them, they're getting paid a shit load and they'll be able to do whatever they want at Netflix whereas the Disney overlords will chop and change anything they do to flog  a few more toys.

After my wife’s response to the last season of GoT I’m happy Netflix are taking them

I'm currently watching the Last Jedi and feel incredibly underwhelmed. I'm going in on Friday with low expectations and hate that I feel like this about my favourite franchise.

At least the Mandalorian holds up...

@johnnyboy anything exciting in TV spots that you can spoilertag?

I honestly feel TLJ gets better on each watch but I remember walking out of it the first time quite angry. The casino bit is still a bit of a drag but I think the overall film is great

My only issue with the TLJ was that it felt out of place in the middle of a trilogy. That's probably more to do with my own expectations of a trilogy.

As has been said, it's some of the best Star Wars and every single one of the films have their gash bits anyway.

Anyone who feel entitled enough to get angry because a film isn't what they personally wanted need to calm down and have a wank.

I’ve been avoiding most of the TV spots for TROS. I know they won’t give much away but currently, I don’t really have any idea what’s going to happen in the film and I quite like that feeling.

I did rewatch TLJ last week. It’s not my favourite but there’s some amazing stuff in there. I’d maybe recommend watching Return Of The Jedi in anticipation instead - I did this yesterday to get an Emperor fix (just in case he’s actually back in the new one).

I love ROTJ anyway but it was fascinating how well it works as a companion to Last Jedi. There’s a moment where the Emperor tries to make Luke strike him down where he sits to complete a turn to the dark side. Luke apparently goes to do it but Vader stops him (either to protect the Emperor or to save his son from turning depending on your interpretation). It’s a pretty clear echo of Kylo Ren and Snoke in TLJ - except Ren has nobody to play that Vader role and stop him. He does strike the big bad where he sits, and does go fully dark, where Luke didn’t.

There’s also a moment during the Luke/Vader fight where Vader is down, Luke is standing over him and there’s this look of hatred/anger/disappointment on his face and he looks like he’s about to kill him. It very clearly mirrors Luke and Ben Solo in the academy. Both times Luke holds back but it shows that the twats who say TLJ Luke wasn’t Luke Skywalker are wrong.

Finally there’s a whole lot of Palpatine saying he foresees things. WHAT HAS HE FORESEEN IN THE RISE OF SKYWALKER ONLY FOUR DAYS UNTIL I FIND OUT

Yes - midnighting Rise of Skywalker. Our local independent cinema always does a Star Wars quiz the night before a new Star Wars film is out and we’re reigning and defending champions so aiming to retain our title before the film.

I’ve booked Thursday off so if I can fit in an afternoon screening the following day I will do so.

And I mean it contains two of the most beautiful shots in the series. The suicide lightspeed silent shot, and this

Also I agree, Luke Skywalker was fine in TLJ. He used to be a whiny kid, he became a whiny man. I think people thought of him more as some plucky hero, but he’s not.
