Actually enjoyed it but I could definitely see what people are saying about episodic, but I actually felt that wasn't too bad as it was fairly action packed the whole way through. I'd heard people describe it as feeling like four episodes of the show stuck together. I wouldn't agree with that at all. I'd say it felt like two episodes of the show stuck together than dragged out with about 45-55 minutes of padding. Possibly the most pointless film to ever exist. I'm guessing they wrote it in one weekend, filmed it in two weeks in a warehouse and Pedro Pascal was only on set for about six hours. Paper thin, repetitive plot. Zero new ideas. Boringly staged action sequences. Nothing even resembling a single character arc, a believable emotion or emotional stake. I know the excuse is always "well, it's supposed to be for kids" but that's bullshit. Kids deserve good stuff too. If your 2hr 15minute $165m Star Wars movie has less story, character and emotion than a single 7 minute long episode of Bluey then really what the fuck are you even doing it for?! My favourite part was when the Hutt twins took Mando's helmet to humiliate his religious beliefs and sell the priceless helmet on the black market but then just decided for no clear reason to give it back to him five minutes later. Presumably because Pedro Pascal had finished his single day of shooting so they had to go back to his stunt double for the rest of the shoot. Never mind though. I'm sure the next Star Wars film will be good. Directed by some guy called Shawn Levy, lemme check his previous work for a second... ....oh no. Edited July 23 by LaGoosh Quote
