If they did sack him, would that leave them open for legal action/unfair dismissal if the case didn’t get a conviction or even failed to get to court ?

A happy medium exists where they take him out of the spotlight and pay his wages until it’s all cleared up or in his case leaves at the end of his contract. They played him consistently and tried to keep him and even had the manager passing sympathetic remarks about him. I’m sure it’s a minefield legally and to some morally but they did shit here.

I've had to Google this, who is this about, Sam Altman? The Open AI guy?

Yep. Sorry, I should've clarified.

So this David Sullivan chap seems a right wrong'un. The fact that he was barred from going near the womens team and youth teams should have sent alarm bells ringing and someone should have stood up and said something. I get a lot of this stuff is historical, but the fact a Safeguarding team still believed him to be a threat now and barred contact, even if procedural, beggars belief.

Historical that we are aware of. He publicly said a lot of dubious shit in the 80s and 90s but it just got written off.

The ban on women's teams has been since 2023, how the fuck wasn't he forced to stand down as Chairman? And Brady was still there, I know she's a cunt but she's always claimed to be a champion of women in the workplace, but not ones who work in football or pornography obviously.

I read somewhere it would have come out earlier but he had a Superinjunction which recently expired, which probably coincides with Brady quitting.

Seems like it was a very dodgy and murky world at the top of West Ham and as much as I hate them as a rival, being run by scumbags like that is a shitty thing all round

The rumours about Sullivan have been doing the rounds since the 90s when he had Birmingham. The fact that he was the owner of the biggest chain of jazz mags I think means that people unfortunately just brushed it off as part of that culture, but it's grim. Sadly, it's not a surprise at all.

Thought this was all public knowledge.  A renowned not-right since the 70’s.
