GeronimoJacksBeard
So did Sami Zayn, just from over-enthusiastically geeing up the crowd on his Raw debut entrance.
The Cutting Edge
He's looking in great shape these days too so when he returns would be a good time for a refresh, get the trunks going I'd say. He commented on the pad a few months back but was used more of dig to start Goldberg feud, spoke about working safe rather than headbutting doors or something, pad isn't an issue if they use camera correctly Edited April 22, 2020 by The Cutting Edge

King Pitcos
6 hours ago, Mr Butternut Squash said: Still baffled how they didn't change a thing about Roman on his return from cancer. There's a lot they could have done better with booking etc. but changing up his look, ring gear and awful theme music could have been such an effective, simple boost for him that could have quelled the Pavlovian response. He felt stale again almost immediately. Like a guy still tragically hanging onto his best days. His Shield holdover theme doesn't even include the best bit! The eerie, grimy, militant intro. "Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Lima, Delta . . . SHIELD!!" He’s the most popular wrestler in the company, and merchandise can take up to about 18 months to produce. If he’d rocked up from the cancer break with a bowl cut and trunks, it would’ve rendered the bedspreads and pencil cases all out of date for a year. Doing big changes to the #1 star’s look is a big risk. Especially now, when there’s no gain to it because the people who moan about his current gear and music would do that about the new ones anyway. AshC
With his look, sidekicks, entrance and all, I thought Jinder Mahal looked the business as WWE Champion and was gutted when he abruptly lost it.
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted April 23, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted April 23, 2020 The only redeeming thing about his reign was that the belt looked good on him. It was just whenever he stepped through the ropes or got on the mic, it all fell apart.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted April 23, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted April 23, 2020 The problem isn't the guy. It's their approach. Their attitude is that the belt will make the guy and it's never really worked. As much as I adore him and was so chuffed when he won the title, it goes back to Bret Hart who they shot up at the drop of a hat and hoped the title would make him a big deal. It did eventually but it took years and the lowering of expectations for the whole company. And that was Bret, who was not only the genuine GOAT but was also a well established IC level guy. That they've done it since with Diesel, JBL, Sheamus and any number of Money in the bank guys I've forgotten and it's never worked (JBL grew into it but that also took business tanking to his level). And almost all of those guys were more established than Mahal. He was a proper jabroni. He's a dull worker and talker but not the worst of either to hold the belt(s). So it's not him, it's their lack of any storyline narrative to a guy going from bottom to top of the card. It's funny that for a company who are heavily criticised all the time, often justifiably, for not pulling the trigger on guys who are right there, they'll always pull the trigger on someone who is absolutely nowhere near. The Cutting Edge
Its when they have a new champion like Rey or Punk for example and don't book them like the champ, they don't get clean wins and the heels and commentery tell audience that they're flukes or undeserving so that's what they end up being. Absolutely spot on. A few years ago you had Braun coming off his brilliant feud with Roman, had been booked to perfection for months and was absolutely red hot. All he needed was the title and he would have been the new top star and over for years. Instead he won the tag titles with a little kid (Roman was jobbed out again to Lesnar). He's never recovered from it and his heat started dying from that point to now where no one gives a shit about him and it's NOW he's got the title. Then a little later Jinder Mahal turns up, who's been a comedy jobbed for years and immediately wins the title and starts main eventing pay per views. Absolute madness. Grecian
I've finally got my eldest daughter excited about watching wrestling. All it took was the Dolph and Otis love storyline and her seeing Ricochet in action.
GeronimoJacksBeard
Randy Orton did the job to put World titles on Jinder Mahal, The Miz and Mark Henry. All guys many felt weren't deserving of such a position (can't agree on Menry, love him and that run). Not sure if that's a sign of Randy being selfless and a company man or just simply not giving any kind of shit,
