Minor PPVs that don't deserve a thread *Spoilers*

AJ's magnificent title reign ended so Cena could tie Ric Flair's record. Cena lost the title shortly after to Bray Wyatt. Bray Wyatt's refreshing and potentially exciting title reign shortly ended to Randy Orton where one of the most interesting stories in WWE rapidly turned into one of the worst ever. Orton, possibly the most boring man in WWE right now, loses the title to Jinder fucking Mahal shortly after that.

Is this the worst succession of booking decisions for a World Championship in such a short period in wrestling history?

At least Jinder looks the part. He looks like a wrestler. He doesn't look like the local fat guy walking around the streets at half 9 in the morning cause he's unemployed and waiting for his girlfriend to bring him his breakfast back from the local cafe after dropping the kids at school.

He looks the part. He acts the part.

Jinder Mahal. This is trolling, yeah?

I bet you so wanted to put Kevin Owens into that paragraph. How hard was it to resist?

Jinder certainly looks the part, no disputing that from me. As for acting the part? Nowhere near unfortunately. He's a very mediocre worker. And note I said worker, rather than technical wrestler.

I'm not going to claim I know what the fuck is going on as I haven't even watched a PPV in over a year, but is this this biggest catapult to the WWE title since JBL? I barely even knew Mahal was getting a push until about a month ago. I knew he was back, but only really remembered 3MB and his abysmal Khali feud from a few years ago.

I suspect Jinder winning is so they can have Sami Zayn take it from him via Money In The Bank cash-in. Talking Smack talked an awful lot about Zayn being in the MITB match.

What's worrying now though, unless they've scrapped the angle where he's not coming back to work unless he gets a title match, we've got Rusev vs. Jinder for the title at MITB. That is going to be pretty tough to get behind.

Neither did Jinder. This whole run started a month ago.

At least with JBL he was an established mid card mainstay who was relatively over with a good finish and just got a big sudden bump to the top

Jinder had won about two matches until this push, nobody had a strong opinion one way or the other or any investment in the character at all. Just been catapulted to "the top" because India.

SJ beat me to it. JBL was a mid-carder who got a quick spruce up and an unexpected push. But he'd been over like rover in their boom period. Mahal has literally gone from jobber to the World Title in 2 months. It's unprecedented.

In two years time, trying to do the Sporcle quiz of WWE Champions is going to be a bastard.

The last time I remember an unlikely candidate moving from lower mid-card to top of the card was Brian Kendrick to TBK back in 2008/2009. Wasn't he briefly champion during a scramble match? Obviously, doesn't count as a recognised reign, but was an unusual push at the time?

I know it's odd; but I am willing to give him a chance. Orton was hardly setting the world on fire as champion - bar his '...dive' comments, no one was actually talking about him. Good or bad, we're talking about Jinder now. He's only - what - 10 hours give or take into his reign (which means he's had a longer reign than Rey Mysterio!) Lets give ol' Jinder a chance; as Benoit used to say 'Prove me wrong'

This isn't to say I'm a fan - I find it incredibly odd and baffling. I guess we just have to wait and see. Maybe this can be the chance Sami Zayn needs to step up as mentioned above?
