Paid Members gmoney Posted September 15, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 15, 2016 See if you can find the chicken tikka naan bread things they used to make. Don't eat it though, I just want to know they're still about. Â
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted September 15, 2016 Awards Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2016 Now I'm in possession of a microwave, Rustlers and those other brands of microwave burgers are my main source of nutrition. Wonderful things. This is the antithesis of this thread, and a blatant plug for my own blog, but I just posted about these microwave containers that are absolute genius. Â http://bigspud.co.uk/lunch-with-lekue/ Â You can actually cook very decent food in them. A Rustlers would fit in one of them I guess. Paid Members gmoney Posted September 15, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 15, 2016 Other than the larger size, what's the advantage one of them has over a plastic take away container?
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted September 15, 2016 Awards Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2016 Other than the larger size, what's the advantage one of them has over a plastic take away container? They're designed to be microwaved over and over again. Plastic containers (such as those from a takeaway) will degrade after two or three goes and start bleeding pthalates into the food.  The posh French containers are also shaped so the heat distributes around the food evenly and cooks quicker. Those corners on other boxes are part of the cause of those pockets of nuclear heat as liquid gathers there.  Don't get me wrong, you could easily argue they were overpriced - but they're exactly fit for purpose. Paid Members gmoney Posted September 15, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 15, 2016 I appreciate the response and can see how someone might prefer these. However under my own criteria, I'm falling down on "offers no advantage".

Paid Members Thunderplex Posted September 15, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 15, 2016 Whoops, forgot where we were there. Â Back on topic, found out last week that I can do rustlers stuff in my electric pressure cooker. Keeps the buns nice and soft too.

Keith Houchen
Rustlers are to be put on a plate and nuked. Piss off with your fancy Dan methods.
d-d-d-dAz
Nah, you remove the buns, crack them in the toaster and nuke the 'meat'. Â Fuck that 'soggy microwave bun' nonsense.

Absolutely on the money with this. Stick the meat on some kitchen roll and do in the microwave and toast the bread. A bazillion times more enjoyable
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted September 16, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) That's almost cheating to be honest. The only acceptable alteration to bunging the whole lot in the microwave is adding a shit load of cheddar to it. You lot will be putting it in a tandoori oven or something next. Paid Members Nick Soapdish Posted September 16, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 16, 2016 To be fair I cook some awesome things in my instant pot. The best ribs and wings, Risotto, soups, casseroles, lasagna. Rustlers is not something I would have put in there.
