MungoChutney Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) A lot of internal debate on where to post this. Both products are from what I would class as a 'Chippy Plus' in that they do chippy chips, full chippy menu from the fryer, but also do pizzas and kebabs. Having said that, neither is traditional chippy fayre so eat clean it is. First up is their doner kebab pizza, enhanced by using kebab sauce as the base. 9/10. Second, is their salt and chilli box. Not traditional at all and much more common from a Chinese than a chippy. It has fitters (that's the massive things top right), chicken nuggets, chips and onion rings. All with salt and chilli seasoning. 10/10. Absolutely sensational. This place has been here for years but we've just moved round the corner from it. Cousin Jim Bob Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 I just stupidly spent 5 minutes googling fitters thinking it was some weird Scotland only chip shop thing then realised it was probably fritters being auto corrected. Looks lovely and suitably for the topic about a bazillion calories. Quote

Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted June 21, 2024 Paid Members Posted June 21, 2024 Greggs' spicy BBQ chicken bites are just as good as their southern fried potato wedges. That's a meal, right there (two of each), and I'd have it every day. Quote

Merzbow Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 I've been watching a few of Grackle's videos today, she's pretty great but this just has me wanting a Costco membership so badly. Anyone wanna lend me a card so I put on even more weight..? Quote
deathrey Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 I think our Costco only does 3 cakes (chocolate, red velvet, carrots cake) and then birthday cakes. I want to try the victoria sponge Quote

Was back to the Cracker Barrel today, as I had a win on their reward points game and had enough for $20 off dinner. Wife had a 10z steak, mac and cheese, country-breaded shrimp, and a side salad. I had the three entree sampler with hashbrown casserole and turnip green with brisket — it was chicken 'n' dumplings, piece of fried chicken, and meatloaf. Generally banging, although I forgot that their chicken 'n' dumplings is a bit of a letdown — made with chicken breast, so it's lacking flavor, and a bit too soupy. Steak was ace, meatloaf was cracking, and they always surprise me with how good the chicken is. Quote
