Paid Members Chunk Posted May 7, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted May 7, 2015  Of course when he returns he is going to start thinking god for turning his life around even more, so Jones will still be a sanctimonious little prick.Obviously it's early days yet, but Jon's manager was talking this week about the possibility of Jon never returning. It wasn't something I'd ever considered until reading it. What a crazy story it would be if this was the end of his career. Probably the most talented man in the history of the sport, on his way to having the greatest career of all time, and he managed to piss it all away by being a complete dickhead in his personal life. If someone ever puts the time into making a movie about Jon's life it's going to be absolutely fascinating.   Was that on the MMA hour? I thought his manager came over as a massive bell during that interview, if so.   It'll never happen, but I'd love it if, just for once, someone with a problem turns their lives around because they ditched religion, or at least openly declares they did so without the aid of religion.   Nothing to do with MMA, but Jonathan Edwards is the only example I can think of:  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2570747/Ive-lost-faith-Im-happy-Jonathan-Edwards-reveals-no-longer-believes-God.html

Good on him!

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted May 17, 2015 Author Paid Members Share Posted May 17, 2015 This is next Saturday! Â It's taken a bunch of hits but it's still a really fucking good card. If they'd originally announced a card headlined by Rumble vs Cormier and Weidman vs Belfort, with Cerrone, Browne, Arlovski etc on the undercard - we'd all be very happy with that. It's just knowing we were going to get Jones vs Rumble and now we're not that leaves a sour taste. Â Still though, there's plenty to look forward to on this one. Top to bottom it's a real quality card. Even as gutted as I am that Cowboy vs Khabib is off, Cowboy vs Makdessi is a fun replacement fight. It's not as relevant a fight as Khabib would've been but stylistically it'll probably actually be a better fight to watch.

Paid Members lambyUK Posted May 18, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2015 Can't wait for this card. Being a massive DC fan I'm more excited for this event now than I was before. That said, I really wanted to see Johnson KO Jones so it's a massive shame we won't see that soon.  It's also weird rooting against Rumble too as I love the guy as well. His style is just so exciting and I think this fight will be truly special.  Can't see past anything except a Weidman win too, but it would be good to see Belfort roll back the years. Lets hope this card gets the buys it deserves as I unfortunately feel it may be hit by the massive buy rate of Mayweather/Pacquiao.
Paid Members stumobir Posted May 18, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2015 Does anyone know if there's anywhere in Dublin that will be showing this? Tried a google search but not having much luck.
seanz25
As per almost all ufc events over here your best bet is to find the local casino and give them a call in advance to see if their showing it. Grosvenor casinos show a large portion of fight events.

There's 18 of us on a stag so the rest can go lose all their spending money while a few of us watch this.

As you say, he looks like an in shape 40 year old guy, which ultimately translates into he's getting messed up on Saturday night.
