hallicks
 It's the environment Vince has been desperate to create. That the old cunt then looks down on them is ridiculously hypocritical but hey, that's Vince.  I wonder why he would be desperate to create that environment, the ratings are down, PPV money has been written off, network subscribers have hit a wall, and because everyone's shit scared of losing their job, no-one can break out of the pack. So you end up with 3 hours of almost wall-to-wall midcard hell on a weekly basis. Someone said something about life being too short to watch it fully, which was exactly my sentiment when R-Truth vs Rusev came on. Life is too short for R-Truth vs Rusev. Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 21, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted January 21, 2015 Did anyone notice how desperate HBK was to keep his hat on when making his entrance? There can't be much hair left on top going by that evidence.
Dr.PeterVenkman
In fairness, they did give Ryder a go with a major role in that Cena storyline with Kane a couple of years back. While the storyline was 4 and a chin Borash's, he was absolutely rotten in it. So bad, you can see why WWE decided they were right all along and he's good Superstars material but not much else. You could've put Austin or The Rock in Ryder's place in that story and they would've been killed as bad as Ryder was  I'm not a big Ryder fan by any means but he got that good pop when he won the US Title then had that last segment of Raw celebrating with Bryan and Punk then was made to like a right knobhead, taking about an hour to change the car tyre and sitting in his wheelchair crying because Cena got off with the bird he liked, no one could have survived that, the whole thing must have been a rib
Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted January 21, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted January 21, 2015 (edited) Yeah, as I said it wasn't a good storyline, but Ryder did himself no favours by being awful at everything during it. If we're bringing up Rock or Austin, at the very least they are both great enough to not come across as a bloke that is out of their depth doing more than a catchphrase on live telly. Again, Ryder did himself no favours. Â Daniel Bryan is maybe a better comparison, because WWE gave the guy some right ropey things to do, but Bryan is good enough to get over with it or at least make it somewhat entertaining. Â If you're reliable and decent with your lines I'd say they're probably more likely to give you a go. It's why Heath Slater gets more TV time on Raw than Ryder. Pinc
Heath Slater could be a proper mid-card asset, he gets it. Give him the IC belt and a valet and have him Flair his way out of title defences for a year and a half. It'd be great.
GavinSAFC
Just a quick one - how come people aren't all over Rollins for fluffing his lines? If Reigns had done a cock up as big as that he'd have been buried.
d-d-d-dAz
That's not really true, though. Â The criticism of Reigns, if it really is of Reigns, is rarely about his ability to deliver a promo; it's the shit he's forced to say. A fluffed line is a fluffed line. Shit happens. Â 'Sufferin succotash' is character debasing.
Paid Members SD Jones Posted January 22, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted January 22, 2015 With Reigns it always seems like he's been building up all week to deliver a scripted set piece and every time he's on the mic it seems like a risk as opposed to an opportunity. Rollins is just a dick running around saying stuff, it's part of his get up. Lots of hot air and when he makes an arse of things it just seems like it's him, still pretty natural and he gets away with it, it definately doesn't do him any harm. Rollins just now is exceeding, very few others fit that bill.

Not about the shit lines but we'd have a good half dozen posts about Reigns terrible promo skills. Shit happens though. Watched Rumble '91 on the Network last night (yours for only 9.99). In the midst of a passionate promo, Hulk Hogan forgets Saddam Hussein's name and it all goes to shit. Classic blooper. Classic blooper.  Because Reigns' promos are consistently awful while Rollins' are consistently passable. Sometimes better than that.  If Rollins went on a three-month run of telling Cena to tuck his legs between his legs then everyone would be jumping on him for it. One fluffed line is nothing. If Reigns had done a cock up as big as that he'd have been buried. The difference is heels are allowed to have egg on their face (to quote Steve Austin), where as babyfaces, particularly ones like Roman Reigns, are supposed to be bulletproof and suffer from giant cock. Â Rollins' screw up led to a wonderful bit of improv from Cena and it helped the back and forth, so it all worked out.

Glass Smash
Why do they always have these legends panels on Raw they are becoming stale as fuck. I enjoyed the nWo segment even though Nash was becoming a bit annoying with his "everyone that's popular in wrestling is a personal friend of mine" thing.
