There's an Onita documentary coming out, as ever I'm expecting large amounts of bull shit but I'll watch it as soon as I can get a translated copy.

Atsushi Onita's documentary film "Fight" will be released through out Japan on December 6th. The film's catchphrase is "There is meaning in fighting. It's worth fighting for. Show us how you live your life! Climb up no matter what life is!!" the film has Onita talking about his hidden past during his dramatic life and will confess the truth behind various events that he has kept silent about until now. Former Pro-Wrestling editor-in-chief Tarzan Yamamoto, Bull Nakano, Great Kojika, and Onita's mother were interviewed for the documentary. The film director Takayuki Kawakami spent 8 years and spent 3,200 hours with Onita during that time as he specializes in fireworks and has been apart of Onita's explosion crew to help setup his explosion death matches. The film will be done in honor of Atsushi Onita's 50th year in pro-wrestling. The documentary will air in select theaters in Japan into late January, so I believe it will be a little while before a DVD is released, but I am not quite sure has nothing has been announced other than those select theaters in regards to how to see the film.

I didn't want to start an entire thread for this and seeing as Hayabusa was an FMW and deathmatch legend it fits here?

Zero One have announced a new Hayabusa being played by as a yet unknown wrestler... I'm personally not a fan of doing this but he'll be starting in April against former FMW mainstay Masato Tanaka.

So are they going to play this like a Tiger Mask sort of deal? And Masato Tanaka is still going?!

Tanaka is still going and still going strong, the last match I saw was an absolute banger with Takeshita. He's wrestling all over the place in the US and Japan, a full on journeyman.

I'm not sure how exactly they're going about the Hayabusa thing, hopefully it's someone with a connection to him though.

Oh I don’t like that at all. He can’t be replaced for me.  

Still won’t be as bad as Menace though, who just stole the entire look/gimmick. Remember seeing CZW Cage of Death 3 not long after Hayabusa’s accident and being furious that this god awful indie wrestler had completely stolen his look. Terrible.

He is. Even more unbelievably, he's still absorbing the same brain rattling chair shots he was regularly taking from Mike Awesome 25+ years ago. An absolute loon.

Apparently his family have given their permission to do it and it's a show being put on by the Mexico Tourism Board in conjunction with CMLL, Lady’s Ring and Zero 1.

From what I've read, it seems like its currently planned to be a one-off, but you never know.

Blake has played a blinder and uploaded the famous Kasai/Mondo vs Justice Pain/Cashmere match from 2001, and has three different angles too to make things even better. This was a popular match to try and get, even back in the days of tape trading. I think Ive still got a shitty .wmv file of this one on an external hard drive somewhere, so its a hell of an upload to finally get to see this in very good quality, and angles I never knew existed. Poor Kasai gets destroyed in this one, and isnt the first or last victim of Justice Pain taking things too far. Insanely brutal match.

For those not wanting to watch the whole match, skip to 42:55 to see one of the craziest bumps ever, and easily the most brutal powerbomb to the outside youve ever seen. Kasai gets killed. Then skip to 47:00 to see Kasai's back get ripped to shreds by a lighttube (52-53 minutes to see the behind the scenes clean up of his back which required 60 stitches)

That match created a buzz online amongst the internet community like no other I can remember for a deathmatch. It's probably the main reason I got full on into Deathmatch wrestling back in 2001.

I've seen a decent DVD version of it semi-recently but yeah this is a great get, crazy how Jun Kasai is still going with the wild stuff he does.

This match along with Zandig Vs Nick Mondo were iconic of the era, everyone into hardcore wrestling had that TOD 2 event on VHS it seemed and like an idiot I was always showing it to mates who'd never seen the style before.. pretty sure I've watched it in our own @MoKonjic place back in the mid 00's.

NJPW World put out a PPV showing for "Barb Sasaki Produce CRAZY FEST", a 25th anniversary show for deathmatch ref Barb Sasaki. I've only watched the main event of Jun Kasai vs. Masashi Takeda vs. El Desperado so far but fucking hell it might just be one of the craziest, bloodiest deathmatches of all time even by Jun Kasai standards. I've no idea how he's still going at this level after all these years. El Despe gets the worst of it, the New Japan Jr champion of all people breaking the Muta Scale by a wide margin.
