Yeah I audibly showed excitement for that announcement about TOD coming here for the first time.

I can't believe it will be the first tbh it seems like a obvious successful idea with the huge rise in deathmatch wrestling here in the UK and the pool of names from here too.

I do hope we will get the best and biggest names from the czw side surely they have to roll the big guns out for it you'd think anyway.

But what a winner 2026 TOD UK for the win!!!!

Didn't they do one in Germany and one over here when they had a working relationship with a few other companies? I'm probably going back 10+ years.

Nope that was gorefest that happened over here. This will be the first ever tournament of death in the UK and outside the US I think (not 100%)

I watched that vice documentary about the Harrods can't believe they kept it completely silent same thing with rise I mean it's a huge opportunity to reach a high amount of new eyes so it's weird it released out of nowhere.

Really enjoyed it I'm a fan of both with Jack smashing it this year with big opportunities the biggest being gcw nick gage invitational and shocking everyone beating draw Parker and going to round two having a great match against my personal Indy wrestler of the year bear Bronson.

Recommend a watch if you're interested in death match wrestling and British wrestling

I just find it humourous that bloody Iceman of all people is not only still going but this is arguably the highest his profile has ever been thanks to his son and the matches they had.

Always a bit of a UK Ian Rotten vibe about him.

Nick Gage and Triple H finger point photo incoming?!

In all seriousness this is great news and I really hope Gage can stay happy and healthy. The God of this fuckin’ shit!

Glad to see him back in shape and doing well, Nick always comes across as one of the more decent guys in wrestling whenever I hear him talk and he's one of the most vocal advocates for trans rights.

Echo the love for Nick Gage, he's seen and been through a lot of crazy shit in his life, most his own choosing  but he just has this aura about him where you want good things to happen for him. Would love him to come over here next year for the T. O. D just to witness his entrance!!

Can't see much when googling and don't think it was covered in here, so was there a situation which happened to him recently? All I see from Google is that he went to rehab.

Also from Google, Gage is somehow only 45! I find that mental, as his peak was 20 years ago and he has felt like a relic for at least 10 years. Crazy. Similar to how I just found out Sabu was early 40s when he was washed up in WWE.

His partner passed away earlier this year unfortunately and he started falling into the downward spiral again.

He had the falling out with Brett and was working for other promotions with the rumour being that some promoters were enabling Gage’s issues rather than help him help himself and things just got worse  for him. Thankfully he eventually got the right help and seems to be in a good place now

BJW 2026 New Year’s Battle Begins - 02.01.2026

Spoiler

BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship
Lighttube Deathmatch

Yusaku Ito (c) vs Abdullah Kobayashi (4th defence)
****

Its a new year and here we are for the traditional Big Japan 2nd January Korakuen Hall show and it’s the mainstay Kobayashi with a shot at the Deathmatch Championship

I was worried when the match first started as Kobayashi looked very slow, but after two minutes he had a fork embedded in his forehead and we were off to the races.

The ring is surrounded with lighttubes and glass starts getting broken early doors. Ito rips the shirt off of Kobayashi and they fight for control of a Russian leg sweep on to tubes, which is not the smartest idea as now both men are bleeding from the back.

IMG_3700.thumb.jpeg.8e59f7ccdcbeaa694ad6e98bcaf14d2d.jpeg

Ito goes for his black mist early but Kobayashi blocks it with his hands and rubs it back in Ito’s face which actually is very simple but pretty cool

This gives Abby the upper hand and he climbs to the top, however it ends in disaster as Ito goes for another attempt at the mist which lands this time. Kobayashi now blinded by black mist on the top rope and Ito hits a superplex across the ring.

Ito finds a big bunch of lighttubes and smashes it over Abby’s head, which changes from black mist to red blood.

Ito then grabs a bucket of broken glass the dojo trainees have collected from the previously broken tubes and pours it over Kobayashi.

Abby is now bleeding a lot and takes a body slam to the pile of broken glass in the ring

He’s broken and bloody but looks to the crowd who are now going nuts and give him the boost he needs

They exchange stiff headbutts that rebound around Korakuen and the tide starts to turn.

Abby takes advantage and gets Ito down with a sling blade. He then suplexes some tubes on to Ito for a great near fall.

They both slowly get to their feet but Abby gets the upper hand with a body slam. He then covers Ito with lighttubes and heads to the top. The crowd are chanting KOBAYASHI!! as he hits a huge elbow drop on to pile of tubes in the ring for the win and we have a NEW CHAMP~~~~~!!!!!

I’m really pleased for the big guy. Believe it or not we are now in the THIRTY SECOND consecutive calendar year he has wrestled for Big Japan - are there any other wrestlers with a stat like that?

Kazumi Kikata comes out at the end and attacks Kobayashi so we already have our next challenger lined up down the road

ICW No Holds Barred Volume 90: 6th Anniversary Show - 03.01.2026

Spoiler

ICW American Deathmatch World Championship
Deathmatch

John Wayne Murdoch (c) vs Bear Bronson (11th defence)
****

There’s an odd atmosphere at this show due to a speech owner Danny Demanto gives earlier on. He tells the crowd that a few years ago a fan fell over outside the venue, hurt himself, and is now suing the company. It’s now “getting to the expensive part” of the legal process and Demanto tells the fans to enjoy the shows while they last, because the company may disappear for a while. Let’s hope not!

Anyway the main event comes and it’s the two big guns, John Wayne Murdoch defending his title against Bear Bronson

The match starts and JWM offers to, umm, fellate Bear which gets a big thumbs up from the crowd!

IMG_3727.thumb.jpeg.604a4108f3a51194a796d22009630095.jpeg

Of course it’s a ploy from JWM to get a cheap low blow in on Bear who is way ahead of him and crowns JWM with a lighttube to start the blood flowing

It was a big mistake from JWM to give up position so early and he just can’t get any momentum. It’s all Bronson, who finds a gusset plate board and introduces it to JWM’s face

IMG_3728.thumb.jpeg.76760f1016b9cb9d550bad2cf1fbd04e.jpeg

The champ is already desperate, he uses all his strength to push Bear into a pane of glass and finally he gets his chance to deal damage. He smashes countless Lighttubes over Bear and his back is a complete mess

IMG_3729.thumb.jpeg.e3f191b49b5c30a48eb7f1b8a3118444.jpeg

Bear manages to get to his feet and fights back enough to hit JWM with a chokeslam on to a chair and lighttubes

IMG_3730.thumb.jpeg.bac0a9f200efef0bb6dbc982a854056b.jpeg

The blood loss is starting to slow Bear down and he starts to crawl towards the corner which have a bunch of tubes. Before he gets there JWM manages to run over and knee Bronson from behind and in to the tube. The challenger just gets a shoulder up at 2

JWM snaps and hits referee Shiny Shoes with a tube and then starts to go after Bear’s wife Gabby with tubes

Gabby takes a bunch of tubes to the head but hulks up! She grabs JWM and launches him through a box of tubes, then begins to absolutely smash the hell out of Murdoch with more tubes. This woman was going for home runs every shot, she was really laying them in. Spooky dust fills the venue

IMG_3731.thumb.jpeg.1b358e4a78171b431991d5d95434e77d.jpeg

Bear then hits his finisher, the chokebomb, covers the champ, but Shiny Shoes is still down! The ref slowly gets to the pin, but the delay has given Murdoch just enough time to recover enough to kick out at the last split second.

IMG_3732.thumb.jpeg.bd15bc7c89c2592d931852812727a9a9.jpeg

They are both back to their feet and JWM manages to hit his sheer drop brainbuster, gets the cover, but Bear is up at one! The crowd going ballistic! Chants of NEW CHAMP ring round but quickly stop when JWM finally gets that low blow he has been trying since the first minute of the match. It’s just enough to stop Bear in his tracks and put him through another brainbuster which proves too much for Bronson

IMG_3733.thumb.jpeg.0bc97d7a571c4dc2e43b0882cfd76e9e.jpeg

Murdoch’s great reign continues, and he holds the belt up as Gabby checks on her battered and bloody husband

I dread to think what kind of daily pain these death match lifers are in, people like Nick Gage and Abdullah Kobayashi must be completely fucked.

It's an interesting one because some of them barely take bumps (or at least not as many as your average normal wrestler will in a match) so while they might be getting cut to shreds nightly I guess you can heal from cuts pretty quickly while long term continous bumping will fuck up most the major parts of your body over time.

But then again the type of person who does regular deathmatches probably doesn't live the healthiest lifestyle generally.
