I'm with Ambulance Chaser on this one, I can listen to Austin all day. In three years I've maybe missed three or four of his podcasts in total. Even when it's total mundane stuff like him talking about having a new floor put into his house. Jericho has improved his podcasting style tremendously and is well worth subscribing to also, but I can happily skip his shows if they don't have a good guest.

Jericho'spodcast has improved immensely over the last year or so, and his 'non-wrestling guests' tend to be more appealing, especially as it's not Ted Fowler every other week.

However, on occasion you do feel like Jericho is blowing smoke up their arse for fear of upsetting people or he's impure 'hero worship mode. I've got his episode with Tony Iommi to listen to, but you know at some point in it he's going to call a certain album that was undeniably shite as being "underrated" or "misunderstood". It's fine to talk to people about poor albums/movies/books or whatever, but to try and say that make out that people "didn't get them" grates slightly.

 

Austin on the other hand presses his guests a little more and calls a spade a spade, so the whole comes across being a little more honest.

 

Both have their pros & cons and I certainly couldn't listen to them both week in week out, but both are worth listening to depending who the guest is

Honestly I'd like to see a smaller gap between them because I enjoy them so much.

Edge on Cabana's show is a good listen. Colt's had a good run of guests the last few weeks, unusually.

I've just loaded up Cabana's one, as I used to listen to him a little while back. I always skip the "song of the week" he has though. So far its pretty good, although covering a lot of ground that I would assume is common knowledge (how edge got into wrestling and so on).

Yeah colts been saving them up to get ears and eyes on his DVD comimg out. Watched it Friday and it's quite short and less interesting than the first two.

Becky Lynch is great on Stone Cold's latest podcast. Really likeable and has some great stories to share. It's strange how much more likeable and charismatic the modern wrestlers are when they're outside WWE.

Not sure how "real" it was, but Vince Russo has brutally buried his podcasting partner Jeff Lane on this week's podcasts. Lane wasn't present to give his side but Russo was pretty harsh if it was a bit of a work.

Just listened to this hahahaha, absolute gold, the whole situation reminds me of the movie What About Bob, this Jeff Lane just won't go away, "Bro, he's staying until Monday Bro"!!! Driving and flying all that way when he is nothing to do with the show.

Becky Lynch is great on Stone Cold's latest podcast. Really likeable and has some great stories to share. It's strange how much more likeable and charismatic the modern wrestlers are when they're outside WWE. 

 

Although that's of course true in general I do think Becky comes across well on WWE Tv too.

 

She's a great babyface.

Its almost impossible to believe thats only a month you covered. There is so much happening. It feels like 6 months of current WWE product

It's amazing to hear how much Vince was putting into getting Rock seen as the guy, despite the Austin wave.

 

I find it hard to believe you would see an approach like that often.

 

I guess its making another star, Austin doesn't need the rub, which makes it's great to hear.

Wow, just watched the Regal match mentioned in that SCG podcast. Just wow. TNA looks well good for the Victory Road shit now, at least they cancelled their PPV main event. This bloody throwaway Raw match went on as planned and was swept under the carpet. 

I can't fathom how he was allowed out there?? If I was Goldust, waiting in the back to go work Regal, and heard him cut that slurry promo, I'd be like no chance mate. Take the can for it and everything, go to WCW, ECW, XPW, who cares, I would not step in the ring with that guy!

Thing with the Regal match is that it's like nobody picked up on it or gave it much attention. I'm just watching the 98 Raws in bulk and anticipating a Regal match, and he's out there making Khali's English look like it belonged on BBC News. He just belongs nowhere near a wrestling ring that night, and when I got to read the newsletters to see what the talk is, there's practically nothing. A passing reference to Regal looking like Davey Boy in WCW and that he probably shouldn't have been out there, but so much is happening in the world it's not a big deal, whereas it'd be referenced forever if it happened now.

 

And yeh, they weren't fucking around with Rock, huh? It's stuff like this that gives you an idea of why Austin was super paranoid at the top.
