Wrestling Pod Casts / Radio Interviews

I am always looking for Wrestling podcasts or radio shows to listen to, both British and International.

I sometimes find myself listening to radio podcasts or shows just because they are going to be absolutely terrible or have someone on who is so beyond help that it is just funny to hear their opinions and hear them justify themselves and what they do!!

I know of Inside The Ropes is certainly one of the best ones and you can find them on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/theinsidenetwork?fref=ts

There is also The Indy Corner that always produce great shows that are worth a listen at https://www.facebook.com/TheIndyCorner?fref=ts

Does anyone know of any others that are worth a listen on a weekly basis?

Wam Bam Bodyslam do a good show : https://www.facebook.com/WamBamBodySlam?fref=ts

British Wrestling Radio : https://www.facebook.com/Britishwrestlingradio

Harborough FM also run a great show with Rob Maltman on Thursday Nights from 10pm - 12pm : https://www.facebook.com/harboroughfm?fref=ts

You can listen to the latest Harborough FM Interview from this past week (that just happened to feature myself) at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151271311057375

Sure there are others including the 2 mentioned about which are both great shows aswell.

This is a MUST listen for any fan of british wrestling! You may have heard of a guy named 'Gareth Angel' - he was one of the main targets of Iceman's 'Strawb Watch' campaign a few months ago. This total div now runs a wrestling promotion that he calls bradford wrestling alliance using such classicly trained guys as Brett Bell and the other uk strawbs, untrained and without a care for the damage he is causing to UK wrestling, he has even conned his way onto a radio show to 'promote' crap schools and crap shows in his area!! Shocking but worth a listen if only to see how deluded these people actually are!

LAW for roundup of news and listen to Meltzer answer every question posed to him with a 'I DOOOON'T knowwww, maaaaaaaybe?'

Review a Wai, Raw and Impact to listen to the guys dryly rip stuff apart, especially a random PPV from 2003. It's interesting to hear about their lives at the Fight Network or something that's been bothering them in their personal lives, like cinema security or their childhoods as wrestling. There's a lot I used to do or things I used to think before I smartened up, which they mention they did too. What sets them apart from any two arseholes ripping shit apart is that they have a professional credential which makes it tolerable. John's puns are brilliant, or at least when you can see them trying to formulate something clever and it's 1am, and they have work in 6 hours.

AOW with Cabana to get to know someone I never really bothered about, like Cliff Compton or Pat Buck. It's a really great way to find out about what makes someone tick, in an hour. Occasionally Punk will be on too for a bit. Plus, over time you can see how Colt has gone from someone desperate to get into WWE, to someone whose not that bothered about the big two, and just truckin' along. Surprised someone at WWE hasn't suggested doing a podcast, as it's an excellent way to get to know a guy when they don't have much TV time.

MLW radio to hear Konnan tell a story from 1996 where Luger is pissed about not being in a rap video, or Sin Cara pull a gun on Del Rio. You'll get some insight from Court about being a promoter, TV networks and wrestling/MMA or a story from his days on creative where Vince did something batshit insane. Also, to get a roundup of news about drug cartels in Mexico or Konnan completely kill a joke cos he's "gone to Iran".

Much appreciated for this, I shall certainly check it out!

I'm amazed that this idiot is still knocking around, the resiliance of some people never ceases to amaze me! The part where he refers to himself as a professional wrestler is just beyond belief. Anyone who has ever seen this piece of crap at an event will understand how pathetic this is. I hope his show gets shut down.

Thought I would throw my podcast/blog into the mix. http://www.britwresblog.co.uk / http://www.facebook.com/britwresblog (also on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/britwre...og/id581703225). Only 7 episodes in so far so still working on it. Have done interviews with a couple of promoters in the North East as well as one with Rampage Brown. There are also a few more in the pipeline.

I second the love for LAW, especially the Review-A-Wai, Review-A-Raw and Review-An-Impact shows. Excellent stuff all the time and they give off a nice Charlie Brooker vibe (despite being from Canada).

Also, although not specifically about wrestling, Tree Of Woe (http://steveandlarson.com/category/tree-of...larson-podcast/) starring TFTW's Steve Here and And Larson is a fantastic podcast. They usually review that weeks RAW at the start and then get onto main bulk of the show, answering fan questions, which revovles around wrestling and gaming.

I Want Wrestling was really interesting - Dave Lagana talks to lots of former WWE writers and gives you an impression of what it was like behind the scenes. They aren't doing it now since Lagana works for TNA.

MLW / Konnan Show Former WWE and MLW writer Court Bauer, St Laurent and Konnan's pod cast is really good, lots of good guests and Konnan always has a lot of interesting stories and isn't afraid to ask anything.

Art of Wrestling With Colt Cabana Maybe the best of the wrestling relating podcast's in my opinion, his friendship with the guys he interviews means he can ask a lot of questions and get answers that a regular journalist or interviewer simply couldn't. Some of his shows are hilarious.

Between The Ropes - It used to be great when it was a weekly show with 3 hosts but the format has changed recently. Still a good show with some good guest, but worth checking out older shows in the archives if you can, great series of guests, good discussion and really funny.

Indy Corner - Good for getting interviews with the UK guys. As you don't get the chance to hear much from them in general, so always very interesting.

Xtreme Odd Couple with Steve Corino and Rob Dimension Not just about wrestling but wrestling is still the main part of the show, really funny banter between the 2 hosts.

If you go on You Tube You can also find a lot of In Your Head interviews on you tube with lots of different guys and there are also a fair few wrestling shoots up on there too.

Other couple that might appeal to others but didn't do much for me;

The Joe Rogan Experience Not wrestling, and in this podcast not really MMA, but since he is so heavily involved in UFC it might still be relevant to some. Only listened to a couple, he has a lot of interesting discussions about all sorts of random subjects and comes out with some pretty unusual theories about things. He is very in favour of the legalisation of pot and I think he might smoke a lot of it before he does some of the shows I heard. It certainly makes the shows different from the type of discussion you would get on the others and either makes the show a lot better or worse depending on your viewpoint.

Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe It's hosted by Mike Quackenbush but from few I've listened to it's more a podcast about pop culture and not about wrestling at all. Can be interesting if you are interested in the subjects they discuss, but I imagine Quack has a lot of interesting stories and lots of good connections in Wrestling that he doesn't really use on this.
