The same as they were paying Scotty who was the vastly superior of the two by that point. I'm guessing that's because they must've signed a multi-year contract when they came back in as a team in 1996, right?

Both Steiners signed contract extensions in late 1998, when they were feuding with each other.

What was the point of the door? The whole point of saying you can win by either climbing over the top or going through the door was just weird, did anyone ever actually win by going through the door? why would anyone actually climb over the top when they could just walk out of the cage? I guess it's more a heel type tactic to simply walk out but when a face has his opponent down it just defies logic to attempt to climb out of the cage rather than walk out.
