Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted April 13, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted April 13, 2017 I don't like Cable particularly and the boring casting of Josh Brolin isn't going to change my mind, he's already Thanos, fuck off. I was so excited for Thor Ragnarok and it looks brilliant, I hope Hulk is in it loads.
Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted April 13, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted April 13, 2017 Aye. Top job by whoever knocked out that trailer. It's got some cast, that.
Merzbow
I couldn't stand the previous Thor movies but this looks great, loving the art direction and while the tone's a little goofy I dig it.
METAL ON METAL
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 has been screened for the press, reviews are embargoed until the 24th - but non-spoiler tweets suggest it is VERY good. Many saying it's their favourite Marvel film thus far, alsoĀ that the comedy side of things and emotional attachmentĀ probably even surpassĀ the first film. Cable when it comes to Deadpool is the straight man much like Colossus in the first film, so it's decent casting. It means they could tie in pool with the current X-men universe as well. I've booked in at Cineworld for a double bill of both GOTG films next Wednesday night. Really looking forward to it
WyattSheepMask
We've booked for the Saturday and we're just going to watch the first one at home the night before. Can't be doing with midnight showings and double bills
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted April 19, 2017 Moderators Share Posted April 19, 2017 (edited) I couldn't even do a double bill of films back to back at home, let alone out. It would just ruin the movies for me. Edited April 19, 2017 by Chest Rockwell
WyattSheepMask
The only time I've ever done it was when they showed the Back To The Future trilogy the other year, and even I was tempted to go after Part 2. According to James Gunn, GOTG Vol.2 has FIVE post-credit scenes Edited April 19, 2017 by WyattSheepMask
Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted April 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted April 19, 2017 I saw a Batman Begins/The Dark Knight double bill the night before The Dark Knight Rises was released. Wasn't really a slog, but the goth next to me who threw his arms up after they ended and nearly knocked me out with his B.O. marred the evening for me. Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted April 20, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted April 20, 2017 Smelling a goth's BO willĀ better prepare youĀ for watching The Dark Knight Rises than watching the first two films anyway.
pryko
I did a couple of Triple Bills last year (Captain America and X-Men) and both times the 3rd movie (which is obviouslyĀ the brand new one) was always a bit of a slog. Midnight showings don't bother me so much, and I think a double bill will be easier than 3 movies.Ā
Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted April 20, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted April 20, 2017 I think I'd start to see Michael Owens' point if I bothered with back to back films at the cinema. Rarely is sitting in the cinema for more than a couple of hours conducive to a good time. The only time I triedĀ the back to back film thing was in the house for Star Wars. I got 10 minutes into Phantom Menace, I believe.
Daaaaaad!
I went to see a double bill of Batman Begins/The Dark Knight and that had a ten minute intermission, which made it pretty bearable all told. Not sure I could do a full-on marathon.
Paid Members lambyUK Posted April 20, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted April 20, 2017 I'm being honest, I've never done a back to back showing before in the cinema, but I've got two kids, aged 1 & 3, so the thought of being away from those little shits for 6 hours sounds like bliss to me.
