They tried to frame the whole 'extra access camps' as a positive thing they'd done to help people be able to attend. When in reality they didnt have the facilities or infrastructure to support these. So it was a cash grab to get even more people on an already massively oversold site. Places in each of these camps were allocated, yet at 17:30 when we finally got in, there wasn't any space and people had to move to squeeze us in. Given the traffic issues there were people still arriving well into the early hours of the morning, so it was massively oversubscribed. They just shoved as many people on site as they could, be it gen pop or access, and didnt improve anything to accommodate them. Ours wasnt the only access camp with a lack of toilets and stuff either, was a common problem across all but one of them. I expect things will be great lt improved next year due to the bad press, but its a shame it happened in the first place.
Merzbow
The NME of all places with a really cool article on three Singaporean hardcore bands who are touring over here. I'm seeing Doldrey next month as I think they're the only one of the three coming to Brum, a killer mix of death metal and hardcore without being deathcore-like. https://www.nme.com/en_asia/features/music-features/singapore-hardcore-punk-sial-doldrey-fuse-interview-uk-europe-tour-3454482
truthofsin
Skindred in Shangri-la on Thursday should be an experience. Saw Gojira there a few years back and that was ace. Seen Skindred so many time I don't really mind if I don't see them most of the time. Despite them always being great. But the venue should make it unique. Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted June 19, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2023 Heavy tempted to grab a last minute ticket for 2000 Trees as long as I can sort a PA. Wonder Years, Skindred and a chance to see American Football live is enough reason for me to go when splitting a ticket will cost £75 each or so. He goes half on my ticket, and then we use my disabled rail pass to get cheap travel down. The small perks of being wrecked haha. Trees looks awesome. I was supposed to last year after winning tickets, but I caught covid at Glasto and was a write off.
cobra_gordo
I've just won four tickets to this years Outbreak and I genuinely don't know if I can be arsed to go which feels really ungrateful and entitled. Think it's partly because there's realistically 5 bands over the whole weekend I'm a genuine fan of (Converge, Scowl, Gel, Zulu and Jesus Piece) and partly because I'm getting advance anxiety about getting there and parking and all the horrors that comes with these events that I'd normally have weeks to mentally prepare for and not 3 days. Please convince me to go. Manchester folk, reassure me about the parking situation and if you can, suggest where to park near Depot Mayfield that won't cost a small fortune (paid 22 quid once to park for a few hours in an NCP when we went to watch Ninja Warrior getting taped). Also, who else is worth seeing that I may not know? Bane would obviously be worth a look, as would Code Orange, Soul Glow and Loathe but most of the poster feels alien to me, especially when I'm not too fussed about the hip-hop side of things. wordsfromlee
Fleshwater are one of my favourite bands at the minute.
Merzbow
Death Grips will likely be the widest set of the weekend, that won't be like any hip hop set.
SuperBacon
Denzel Curry is wicked live, and Earl Sweatshirt I imagine would be fun, even if you're not familiar with him. Man, that is such a good line up. I didn't even know Armand Hammer would be over here.

The Gaffer
Last time I saw Death Grips in Dublin, a woman's arse came flying out of mid air and knocked my friend square in the face. I've never been in a pit like it. It was like something from a zombie film where they drop the garage doors just as thousands of decaying arms are trying to reach through.
cobra_gordo
Did anybody snag a ticket to Converge and Cave In at Boom in Leeds? old out in seconds, couldn't believe my eyes. If I'm honest I'm devastated I couldn't get a ticket. I'm on the waiting list but I doubt any more will come up for sale, that's such a mad venue to see those two bands in. King Mal the Glorious
Saw it announced yesterday and didn't realise tickets went on sale already. Not surprised it sold out instantly.
Paid Members Monkee Posted June 29, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted June 29, 2023 Bit short notice but I have one spare gold circle ticket for Guns N’ Roses in Hyde Park tomorrow, selling for £100 if anyone’s interested.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 2, 2023 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 2, 2023 How was the show Monkee? I told myself id never goto Hyde Park to see another show, but I would make an exception for a Golden Circle ticket.
